Inspiration needed for smart May wedding

I've been a lurker for a while and am now an OCM and Peony and Moore convert..

I'd welcome your collective wisdom on find something to wear as a wedding guest in late May. It's a morning registry office followed by a v. smart lunch - only 20 guests.

I'm 37, 5ft5 and size 12/14 hourglass figure. Have been looking at dresses but everything seems too work-like or too girly - am wondering about skirt and top with either jacket or cardigan. Perhaps navy skirt with coral top? Or is that not smart enough?
Oh, and shoes an issue - wide feet and dodgy knees, so low heels or wedges only...
Any ideas?

I think a dress is more weddingish than a skirt and top. With an hourglass figure would you consider a wrap dress? Loads around at all prices. Maybe go for printed or plain with a contrasting pashmina and then wear with kitten heels or wedges (please no tights if open toed).

You could wear a camisole underneath in the same/complementary colour as the wrap too.

Thanks. I think I associate wrap dresses with work (not sure why as I only have one!) - but I suppose it depends on the dress! Will have a further look - prefer plain or small pattern if you've seen any...

Always some in h&m for around £20 if you only want it for one day, or John rocha at debenhams is good too.

Thanks again-both near my work so will have a look.

this is lovely. You could wear a wrap and red shoes with it to brighten it a little.
