Is this too sexy?

Hi,

I LOVE this dress. I want to wear it to 2 weddings this year. I am a size 10 with great legs, but a flabby middle. I am 5'3.

too sexy

I think it isnt a good dress for a wedding. Sorry.

nomoreminibreaks · 23/04/2012 20:11

It looks a bit short to me - are we talking day do or just evening do?

I live by the 'show either your boobs or legs but never both' motto though...

It does sound just right for your shape however, I wonder if it would pull down a bit to make it longer?

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/04/2012 20:12

No.

It will be longer on you than the model, so not too sexy at all.

But still sexy.

I would wear it, none of us are getting any younger.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/04/2012 20:13

But op is 5-7" shorter than the model, it will be much lower on her than the model.

nomoreminibreaks · 23/04/2012 20:15

Good point fluffy - it will be longer on OP so maybe it's ok.

One of my friends wore the shortest dress ever to my wedding. She looked great and my Dad and Granddad were very pleased about it! No-one had a problem with it though.

HandMadeTail · 23/04/2012 20:15

Try it on, as you are probably quite a lot shorter than the model, and it might not be so revealing on you. If you wear a wrap or jacket of some sort to the ceremony, it may be okay.

But, I do think the styling of the picture doesn't make it look suitable for a wedding.

HandMadeTail · 23/04/2012 20:16

Oh, lots of x posts

Gapants · 23/04/2012 20:20

Yes i am a short arse, so I thought it would be more just above the knee on me.

Both weddings are the full shebang.

I have wide shoulders and not much of a cleavage,so thought the tits/legs rule would be adhered to! nomoreminibreaks

Gorgeous dress- go for it!

LittlePandaBear · 23/04/2012 20:23

I think the dress is gorgeous! I agree that it looks very short on the model for a wedding, but it may be a bit better on you as you're shorter. Find a smart blazer/jacket to go with it and it will look respectable.

If you get it, report back on how it fits!

nomoreminibreaks · 23/04/2012 20:33

In that case I approve! Like others have said, a nice blazer will smarten it up. I'd go for a white one. H&M have a few.

pluckingupcourage · 23/04/2012 20:42

I would wear it to a wedding with a cream/white blazer (I am about your height and it would be just above kneelength on me). Great colour!

Gapants · 23/04/2012 20:45

oooh white blazer? like that!

You might also get away with a pale grey jacket - could bring out the neon-ness of the blue quite nicely (I've seen lots of pale grey/lilac with neon clothes about and it looks really fresh).

Gapants · 23/04/2012 21:56

Yes grey would look great. I have a black blazer and tan wedges that may look good altogether.

If just above the knee- fine. Lovely colour. Anything approaching mid thigh smacks of girls night out attention seeking and has no place at a wedding IMHO. As you are petite hopefully it will be decent. But do check you can sit down without inadvertently doing a Basic Instinct.....and that your thighs look alright when sitting down in short skirt. Nothing worse than pulling down a skirt constantly because it has dawned on you how short it is when seated- and that your upper thighs are quite up to the scrutiny they will get from other women if revealed at a wedding!
