I need to lengthen my eyelashes - are those eyelash growth mascaras/serums any good?

My eyelashes aren't what they once were and I was wondering whether those mascaras that claim to lengthen your lashes actually worked. Has anyone used one? I've got some JL vouchers to spend so don't mind spending a bit if it works.

Failing that, which is the best mascara to make you lashes miraculously thick and long??

Yes the eyelash stuff works
Get it

FeedZombieEatSmartie · 23/04/2012 18:27

I've never used them but have you thought about eyelash perming? I've had that and I barely needed mascara.

But if you get any replies saying stuff like that works, I'll give it a go too and we can compare the results :o

I bought Rapidlash serum after reading lots of good reports on here. They were all true and fine have grown, I could see really good results after 8 weeks. It does not make lashes thicker though, and they don't all grow (hair grows in 3 stages; growing, resting and then falling out, every stage is obviously at a different stage so they don't all fall out together).

When they grew lovely and long I then decided to get them permed- big mistake! It was very difficult to get mascara on and it made them look short again!

Ooh thanks. Where do you get rapidlash from?

Amazon.

Has anyone else experienced side effects from Rapidlash? I got awful headaches so I stopped using it just in case, then the headaches returned when I started using it again.

bargainous

I vaguely know someone with glaucoma and he has lovely long lashes as his glaucoma meds make his lashes grow. Thats how they found out how to make rapidlash etc.

I use the loreal serum, it's discontinued so I get it in savers. Then I use loreal double extension mascara (they do a double extension mascara with the same serum in it but I dont use it as I prefer waterproof mascara) and I always curl my lashes with Tweezerman eyelash curlers.

I also take brewers yeast tablets and sea kelp tablets from Solgar (bought off amazon as they are cheaper) which are also meant to aid hair growth.

cornsyilk · 29/04/2012 09:55

does the l'oreal serum work?
I haven't actually tried this stuff - just ordered it from QVC and lo and behold there's a thread on it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/04/2012 10:19

Yes I found it to be good. You put a line of it on the lash line and then stroke it over the lashes.

I do top and bottom lashes. I cant afford rapid lash.

LooLilly · 29/04/2012 11:09

Radidlash is amazing. I found it thickened my lashes and they grew so much they were brushing against my glasses.

I stopped using it when they got really long but they went back to being stumpy quite quickly. I've started using it again and it is probably my number 1 beauty product.

SephoraRosebud · 29/04/2012 11:49

Yes it does work but unfortunately it made my eyes very red so it looked like I had conjunctivitis.

FannyGallop · 29/04/2012 12:06

rapidlash is amazing. My lashes are now so long that the extra mascara I need to use to cover them makes my lashes heavy and the curl droops. I'm swopping to a lighter mascara to solve this.

It's brilliant stuff and worth every penny. I've rebuilt the arch in my eyebrows too (made it thicker) by using a bit each night.

I used ByTerry Mascara with lash lengtheners in last year and it too worked well. Elizabeth Arden do a lash treatment mascara - I'm using a sample of that today and it's a great black.

Really recommend. £30 but lasts AGES.

How about LVL (lift, volume, lengthen)? I had mine done a few weeks ago, it is similar to the perming process but doesn't curl so just lifts them amazingly well. It lasts about 6 weeks too. I couldn't believe that my sparse stumps could look like that. It looked like I'd had a transplant!
