Favourite YouTube Makeup Tutorials?

Do you have any favourites on YouTube?

I am trying to learn more about applying make up and doing actual hairstyles rather than just brushing my hair and tying it up.

I love the retro / 50s look too. Basically I want to learn how to style properly and hopefully get out of my rut / comfort zone!

Pixiwoo, Lisa Eldridge and Gossmakeupartist are my faves (and they are all proper makeup artists). Tanya Burr is ok too, but she's a bit too giggly and girlie for my liking Grin

search for your favourite cosmetics brands as they often have their own YouTube channel with tutorials.

I second Lisa Eldridge, I have learnt so much from her Youtube clips!

winefairy · 21/04/2012 09:09

Lisa Eldridge. Again. Would like to come up with other suggestions for you but I find her the most watchable.

What moomincow said Grin

The3Bears · 21/04/2012 09:24

Pixiwoo, They're amazing!

QuinnFabray · 21/04/2012 09:59

Definately Pixiwoo, Lisa Eldridge, and Gossmakeupartist, he's great - my favourite.

I also like Pixi2woo (Tanya Burr, who is the pixiwoo sisters' sister in law), and Fleurdeforce, Viviannadoesmakeup, camiloveskiwi, gemsmaquillage.

Justkissmyfrog and Lillieloves are absolutely bonkers, but very watchable.

HollyYMB, Sprinkleofglitter, and there's a fantastic Italian lady called nauticalbutnice.

MooMinCow · 21/04/2012 11:14

Ah Quinn - I sense like me you have squandered many an hour watching these tutorials Wink. what is the most useful thing you have learnt? for me I think false lash application, 'tightlining' and contouring (realises I need to get out more Blush)

I don't watch television anymore, just youtube! Well, I was a complete novice, so learnt everything about make up from scratch.

The best thing I've learned is that filling in my eyebrows makes a massive difference, and how I can use the same brown matte eye shadow, and flat angled brush, to do both that and line the outer third of my lower lash line.

I am loving the Pixiwoo videos!

warmandwooly · 21/04/2012 16:07

Have a look at Lauren Luke (I think that's her name)

MadamTwoSwords · 21/04/2012 16:11

Pixiwoo, Lisa Eldridge, HollyYMBB are my faves. Off to check out some of the others!

bibbitybobbity · 21/04/2012 16:38

Looking through Lisa Eldridge's videos - she was on 10 years younger! I always loved her make up on there!

I can see this becoming a bit of an obsession!

Retro styles! I think I could actually get away with them on normal days.
