Post baby fatty needs help?

Well...I'm not yet a post baby fatty, but give me a couple of weeks and I will be. I've put on 3 stone in this pregnancy and am dreading looking and feeling heavy and unattractive during the summer months (and Autumn and Winter...but will deal with those when the time comes).

I'm normally a size 10 and shop regularly in places like Topshop- love the fashions, but am 30+ so chose carefully. I've got a little bit of time on my hands before my baby arrives and thought I'd try and buy a few nice summer outfits to perk me up post baby. I know that I'll be tired, sore and generally not really feeling like dragging myself around the high street once the baby is here, so thought maybe I should invest in a bit of time now to plan a fashionable, practical summer wardrobe for my new size 14 post baby shape. Also I'm aware that aside from the first couple of painful/sore/I don't care about anything weeks I'm not going to want to wear my largely winter maternity clothes.

Any suggestions O wise ones? Shirt dresses?

Can't help with the fashion, but don"t worry about having put on 3 stone! That is quite normal, and you may find it drops off quite quickly, especially if you breastfeed.

Relax and use your maternity clothes for the first few weeks. Once you're out and about with the pram you'll soon lose much of the baby weight.

If not, skimmers world is a healthy way to lose a few pounds.

I put on 3 and 1/2 stone last pregnancy and it does drop off, especially if you are breast feeding. I was back to size 10 after about 5 months, although a v different size 10 from before. If you plan to breastfeed then this will dictate your summer wardrobe, lots of stretchy vests with shirts/dresses over, leggings may still be your friend for the foreseeable future!

I completely understand your plight and couldn't have ever possibly considered wearing maternity clothes after baby was around. I have 5! Stretchy tops r good, Top shop has always got plenty Of bright coloured vest tops Tshirt tops. V unlikely you'll be a 14 more like a 12. Wink if stretchy look good with new boobs!!! Layers work well u find fir slimming look. My baby is now 7mo and I've managed to drop a stone the moment he was born then to date a further stone then when I stop bf altogether i usually drop another half stone! It does come off in the end Grin
