Have you got thick hair and a long face? What haircut have you got?

Have had short hair for a while and am trying to grow it out without any clear idea of what I am after, apart from possibly some sort of a fringe (line hiding).

So if you are blessed like me with an SJP face shape and thick hair that some hairdressers unkindly call "coarse" - what have you gone for?

Marking my place. I am a fine big-boned girl (think draft horse not Arabian). Long face. Thick, wavy untameable hair. Hair currently 'mumsy-bob'. I hate it.

My hair isn't described as coarse but it is quite thick and i do have a long face.

I've had it about boob length (as in just below) for ages now. But i have it thinned out at the ends and lots of layers around my face, it definitely makes my face look less horsey. A fringe could easily be added to my style. I shall try and find a similar picture.

Its kind of like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=stylesuzi+hair&um=1&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&biw=1280&bih=617&tbm=isch&tbnid=pu8VpWaWh0pTlM:&imgrefurl=stylesuzi.com/2011/02/during-my-holidays-i-got-my-haircut.html&docid=nyk_tLYPLLg7KM&imgurl=4.bp.blogspot.com/-nPGAEOve33k/TVwi5pF76cI/AAAAAAAACOM/VJzUJRY12jE/s1600/Photo%25252B160.jpg&w=640&h=480&ei=vSWQT8vOHcjP8gOAtdSvBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=687&vpy=106&dur=586&hovh=160&hovw=213&tx=131&ty=120&sig=107101907159155019647&page=1&tbnh=129&tbnw=171&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0,i:73" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this so choppy with layers which curve just under my face to make it seem wider and shorter (although that doesn't necessarily sound good looks much better.

Lazydaisy55 · 19/04/2012 16:57

I have long thick hair, long layers and shaped around face area. If I don't have layers it looks bushy.

bigTillyMint · 19/04/2012 17:07

I have a long face and extremely thick, slightly wavy hair. So long layers (and recklessly thinned!) and shaped a bit round face area + fringe. I blow dry it ish and straighten the fringe and the odd other bit as necessary

Jcee · 19/04/2012 17:25

I have super coarse, thick, bushy, crystal tips hair which loves to frizz so this constantly wet weather isn't doing me any favours at all at the moment.

I have it to just below my shoulders with long layers around my face recklessly thinned (love that description) like bigtillymint to take some of the weight out and a heavy fringe. I wear it wavy with straightened fringe or blow dry it all straight or usually in a ponytail

Have had mine v short, long, shoulder length bob, short bob (louise Brooksish) during my life. I think I'm growing it to shoulder length - now I have got some wiry grey hair added in to the coarseness (albeit dyed) it seem that it only works v short or longer where the weight flattens down the width!

Really interesting that most of us have longer hair layered round the face.

I know it's VB but I do really like this haircut

But would entail shedloads of product and straighteners at dawn.

Has anyone tried the treatment you can get to relax and defrizz hair? I think Bumble and bumble make a treatment - sure there are others.

My hair is thick and curly, and I am the butt of the original "horse walks into a bar" joke.

I keep mine in a curly bob with a fringe. Bit like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?num=10&um=1&hl=en&rlz=1C1GPEA_enGB313GB327&biw=1920&bih=965&tbm=isch&tbnid=HAIJ7cQcubhpSM:&imgrefurl=www.hdofblog.com/2011/01/curly-bangs-fringe/&docid=rxcPHuei2dmfcM&imgurl=www.hdofblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Short_bob_curly_hairdo_with_long_curly_bangs.png&w=317&h=336&ei=dlaQT7XTA4WO8gPf1tyKBA&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=353&sig=108135575369682944298&page=1&tbnh=146&tbnw=136&start=0&ndsp=64&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0,i:71&tx=65&ty=34" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this
