am i the only person to think this i bought the full skin care kit expecting miricals with all the reviews ive read on this site and others but theirs no change in my skin at all, any other recommendations would be good im looking for something thats not full of chemicals and that will help clear and keep acne at bay

I agree, didn't do anything for My skin either, I use decleor.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/04/2012 20:05

I like some of it, the multivitamin mask and the intensive eye cream.

Cleansers are a bit harsh.

PerryCombover · 18/04/2012 20:20

I think it's all bobbins unless you have standard leather v dry skin

AnEcumenicalMatter · 18/04/2012 20:24

It works for me (very sensitive, reactive skin) and is about the only thing that does and I've tried most brands you could name.

Rexy · 18/04/2012 20:56

I have just ditched it after 12 years for Origins , no parabens or nasties and smells divine. You should be able to ask for free samples at the counter.

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 18/04/2012 20:58

Google oil cleansing method. Sorted my horrible combination acne and dry skin out whilst pg, and spots have never really cone back despite not doing it fir a while. Grin

StellaAndFries · 18/04/2012 20:59

I tried the tinted moisturiser and really liked it, I am still trying to justify £23 for it though.

cybbo · 18/04/2012 21:02

I love the Skin Resurfacing cleanser

And last night, at 2am watched a beauty programme where they looked at treatments for aged hands. Dermalogica hand cream won over Glycolic Acid peels and laser treatments

cybbo · 18/04/2012 21:03

I have sensitive combo ageing skin Perry and like it v much

PerryCombover · 18/04/2012 21:22

Sorry cyb..it's purely my shittola experience over the years. I kept coming back to dermalogica and kept being disappointed. I want to believe in it.

I had rubbish cystic acne when I was young..it morphed, after illness, into lovely skin but after each blardy pregnancy it has come back to giant pored oily hell with desert dry sensitive ish non t zone

Tell about decent dermalogica...although this new Neutrogena stuff is amazing and is the cheapest product I've used since early teens. I really don't understand or trust it!

lololizzy · 18/04/2012 21:25

had an anti redness cream (can't remember proper name) horrendous greasy gunk that made me shiny..and still red. Binned it

TattyDevine · 18/04/2012 21:28

If you are Acne type person i would try 2 things. Get some Hibi scrub (its surgical scrub, basically, sounds harsher than it is, but its a mild sudsing antimicrobial product that surgeons use to wash their hands before surgery). There are loads of reviews on Amazon saying that acne has cleared up from a daily washing with it. Its not terribly £££ and you can get it in boots usually so worth a try as your wash.

The second thing I would try is something with salacyic acid - beta hydroxy acid. Get onto Paula's choice website and grab the 2% liquid and use it as a toner after the hibi scrub, every day, then a very light oil free moisturiser on your dry bits, and see if that doesn't sort you out.

Jessicaalbastwin · 18/04/2012 21:29

The pre cleanse oil is disgusting, I think thats what it's called. I stick to My lovely Elemis, keeps My skin looking beeeeautiful Smile

TattyDevine · 18/04/2012 21:32

Also, don't know how old you are but if you are well into adulthood (like older than 22 for instance) and still have it persistantly look at your hormones - are you on the pill? If not, would you try a combined pill? Lots of people have success on Dianette but to be honest I found in my twenties when I still had some spots, just normal old Cileste was enough to keep it at bay. After I went off the pill, I had the occasional break out but found lowish carb/controlled blood sugar (low GI basically) diet kept it at bay. Then I had my kids and the wrinkles kicked in Grin

Its anecdotal but I think sugars and alcohol are more of a factor of diet-related acne than "fats" (people used to diss greasy foods in the 80's but I reckon there's more to it than that). Anecdotal, probably complete tosh but humor me.

PerryCombover · 18/04/2012 21:32

Thanks tatty. I'm sorted with crazy cheap products ATM.
Skin is brilliant now but... but....I've spent my whole life buying into cosmetic company guff and my heart tells me I really need to be spending ( the shame)

TattyDevine · 18/04/2012 21:35

Hibiscrub

BHA lotion

Mrsrobertduvall · 18/04/2012 21:39

I love it..I use the ultra calming cleanser, daily microexgpfoliant, age smatprt moisteriser, and a variety of masques.

PerryCombover · 18/04/2012 21:39

I use the Neutrogena version of the BHA, brilliant shout thanks
Worried about the hibiscrub as we used to use it at our local vets!
I use bperoxide when things are bad

Mrsrobertduvall · 18/04/2012 21:40

Microexfoliant and agesmart Blush

PerryCombover · 18/04/2012 21:50

Bought the cleanser twice...died from it twice!
Exfoliant was a nightmare for me and now use cloths that are miles milder but get the job done
I'm embarrassed by showing in the bathroom and yet it works

brighthair · 18/04/2012 23:44

My skin is vile at the minute, mainly due to coming off the pill. Now I have only been using this for 2 days so whether it will work long term
It's the Vichy Normaderm hydrating care moisturiser, I bought it at Boots and got the cleansing gel free
Used it the first night and had a huge red spot. The next day it had reduced and started to almost peel on top where usually it would have stayed for weeks. Hopefully it will carry on working - if it does I will review it again!

savy57 · 19/04/2012 20:06

thanks for all ur reply
TattyDevine i was a bit Shock when u suggested that as i would have never imagined using this on my face but where have you been all of my life :D ive ordered some now after researching it some more ive tried dianette never worked at all for me after as full years course thanks for the suggestions

Mabe dermalogica can not work miricals by itself. Vit B and Zink and Magnesium suppliments are SOOOO important.

Things we found aswell is miniral oil or the wrong ph of products that you buy can cause severe problems

Speak to your skincare therapist

Sugarbeach · 18/03/2013 12:02

NOt all the products are great....having said that, I've used the Dermal Clay Cleanser, Gentle Cream Exfoliant and the Skin Refining Mask for the last two years.....there probably are better alternatives out there, I just can't be bothered (nor have the money) to keep on trying new products which is a hit and miss process.....Finished my Microfoliant a month ago and don't think I'll go back to that...

cedge · 18/03/2013 13:25

Im pretty sure most over the counter products do very little.
