Mamas and Papas regularly have 30% off sales and i really liked their clothes for me and the baby when it arrives.

Gap also has some really nice pieces - good casual but dresses nice and online often do offers

When i was pregnant Red herring at debrnhams had some lovely mateenity wrap dresses. Also dorothy Perkins and new look online sales were fab for picking up REALLY cheap items

Have a look at some of the recent maternity threads which have some good suggestions.

My maternity wardrobe is made up of Isabella Oliver t shirts (I loathe the wrap tops but many people love them - look on eBay for them/to sell after), H&M (super soft and comfy jeans and chinos), Gap, Topshop, New Look, Dorothy Perkins. Nicer stuff from Pretty Pregnant and Crave Maternity. My best investments have been J Brand maternity jeans and Isabella Oliver tank vests which I can wear under non maternity tops to keep me decent.

Depends on the shape of your bump but it wasn't until my 3rd pregnancy that I discovered that it was best (for me anyway) to avoid the maternity section altogether, I went up a size and wore maxi dresses, smock tops, shorts with a stretchy waist band ( like these), jersey dresses etc... The only maternity bits I wore really where leggings and a cardi from mamas and papas.

watching with interest - hate maternity shopping with a passion! Also hate looking like a bag lady! Hmm

AmberNectarine · 17/04/2012 20:01

I always say it but you can't beat IO. After a horrible unstylish h

AmberNectarine · 17/04/2012 20:04

Oh bugger... Unstylish hotch potch of a first pg, I three money at the problem second time round and bought a load of Isabella Oliver stuff. I had a stylish capsule wardrobe which saw me right through til the end and then it all went on eBay and got me a fair bit back. Wish I had done it in the first place!

Decameron · 17/04/2012 20:05

I found Seraphine fairly good, also Isabella Oliver (but couldn't get along with the wrap tops either).

FourYolksAche · 17/04/2012 21:33

Isabella Oliver for longline ruched jersey tops to wear with leggings and long cardigans. Mamas and Papas for jersey vests and lovely dresses.

Both have regular sales so don't pay full price Smile

googietheegg · 17/04/2012 21:46

Next skinny maternity jeans are fab.

Also got great stuff, esp denim mini skirt and soft Breton tops, from h&m. Their tights are also good.

Dp maternity leggings have been good too, and their yoga pants.

monkeysmama · 17/04/2012 23:01

I forgot to say, if you're into fashion the pyjama style patterned elastic waist trousers that are in at the moment are great for maternity wear. I have lots of pairs that aren't maternity but I wear under my bump with long tshirts on top. H&M have some great snakeskin ones and Zara have loads of lovely pairs.

Try being into emo style clothing when pregnant.

It sucks.

I will have to compromise on style. Eventually

Seriously, why does nowhere do maternity clothes for alternative styles?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/04/2012 09:34

ooo thank you people, shall get hunting, have a lot of maxi dresses i was planning to keep wearing but not many long although have been given 2 bump bands so they should keep the wolf from the door for a while.

thedetective maybe a buisness idea??

Thanks again!
