dress for a wedding, or two

I have two weddings in June.

One is a very smart wedding, the other is my sister's wedding in Greece. I shall be 6 months pregnant with DC3.
Ideally I'd like a dress I could wear to both. Tiffany Rose and Isabella Oliver etc are a bit out of my price range. I don't really want to spend fortunes as unlikely to be pregnant again!

My sister has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works by requesting I wear white, black, yellow or grey!
I'm thinking black a bit hot, white with 2 small children is unwise and yellow is pretty hard to pull off! But I can't find anything grey!

I suppose I could accessorise in one of the given colours instead. I'd love to look chic and glam. Think a midi or maxi length may be best but I haven't seen any lovely enough.

Anyone up for the challenge of making a large pregnant lady look lovely, not lardy?

Hmm, these were the closest I could find on the maternity front, but not sure either are really what you're looking for:

short dress in black or lemon - but could be a bit longer on you depending on your height

[[http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-MATERNITY-Maxi-Dress-with-Grecian-Drape-Detail/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2003030&cid=8343&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Black maxi - black or pink

However, you may be better having a look at non-maternity for a non-waisted dress - linen casual of similar style to the link (know this isn't suitable though). I found it was a style I could easily wear from when the bump appeared right up to the nine-month mark.

If I see anything in the next few days, will post further.

Oops - link for third dress didn't work

non-waisted dress

Ooh, thanks.
Last time I checked there were no replies!

Shall have a look when I can wrestle the iPad from DH.

Love the Pepperberry one, but even at 6 months pregnant my boobs are not sufficient!
The East one is lovely but am wary of cap sleeves as they tend to make the tops of my arms look even bigger.

Have seen before, and am quite drawn to the one strap ASOS one. Maybe with a hat until it cools down? Yellow accessories?

Saw a silk maxi on Phase Eight website which I liked, but it's sold out. Grr!

shame about pepperberry one, it still may be worth a go as my friend is not curvy in that area but she looks fab in there dresses:)

which is the one strap one?

blondiep14 · 18/04/2012 09:38

It isn't one strap in fact Blush but the last one you linked. Only trouble is I don't think I can do black for the smart wedding. I have a feeling Bride will be reading up on all etiquette and keeping score Wink.
I wonder if the pale colour would dye... I love but am blonde and fair skinned so it unfortunately does absolutely zip for me.

blondiep14 · 18/04/2012 11:03

Oh lord, have I totally lost it?!
So full of snot my brain isn't functioning!

One of the ASOS ones comes in black, and a pale pink. Perhaps it's the other one?!

cremeeggsrock · 18/04/2012 13:50

blondiep14 · 18/04/2012 14:03

I just might!

Have had a proper look and there's a navy one m.asos.com/mt/www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-Maternity-One-Shoulder-Maxi-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2087285&cid=8343&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=12&sort=-1&clr=Blue
I really like it, and it would do for both easily. What do you think?

Saw that one really liked it but discounted it due to colour? its a lovely cut:) x

blondiep14 · 18/04/2012 14:20

I'm going to beg DSis to 'allow' navy!
Sure it will look almost black in pics. I'm not bridesmaid so if she says no I'll challenge her to find me an alternative!

Thanks for the fresh pair of eyes
