A depilatory dilemma...

...hair-free and spotty, or hairy and spot-free?

Particularly bikini line & underarms... Waxing, shaving & epilating all give the same result on my very sensitive skin, despite regular exfoliating and moisturising.

Any brilliant tips out there?

i dont bother unless someones going to see it

for example - i dont go swimming often - so bikini line meh

i wear long bottoms at gym so leg hair - meh

i do however show a bit of pit now and again so i shave those

I have got one of those IPL machines for my legs.

It is bloody marvellous. I use it about 4x per year and I have no hair. I was horribly hairy and prone to bloody awful ingrown hairs.

pocketandsweet · 15/04/2012 06:21

Which one do you have GilbertandGeorge ?

Bonsoir · 15/04/2012 06:41

I have an IPL machine too and I have only used it once and it has already made a massive difference! I must get my act together and pursue.

BountyCack · 15/04/2012 08:13

Yes please say more about these IPL machines. I wanted to give the home versions a few years of being out on the market before flashing my cash.

I have a Philips, but didn't choose (or pay for) it - DP sells them in his shops in Italy and got one for me at supplier price. I'm not sure I'd have paid for it at full price but it seems to work.

I have got this one, but I see they have brought out a better version.

You have to shave then use it. It's fairly time consuming, about 30 mins for bottoms of legs. You need to do it roughly every 3 days, I find, to get it to work.

I bought it last year, used it about 5 times in a month and was hair free for about 4 months! Now if I find my hairs returning, I can get away with 3 treatments.

It only works on fairish skin with dark hair, apparently.
