Must be comfortable, have only seen/tried these so far www.clarks.co.uk/p/20349198, are they hideous? Have you any other suggestions? Sorry, am hopeless with shoes so would appreciate help. PS am early 40s.

Those are awful... Sorry!!

Do they have to have a strap?

Next have some substantial navy shoes:

What about these?

I think the picture shows them in pink, but you can change it to blue.

FauxFox · 15/04/2012 09:05

handmade they have a glittery heart on the front! Are you sure???

Thanks for the replies, yes have to have strap as every pump type shoe I have tried on tends to slip at the heel. I was looking for something a bit daintier as I have skinny legs, would be looking to wear them with a skirt, jeans and cropped ish trousers. Thanks.

Mary-Janes? - would these work?

Bunbaker · 15/04/2012 12:27

I bought a pair of these last weekend, and they are as comfortable as slippers. They don't slip and look good with skirts or trousers.

MsWeatherwax · 15/04/2012 16:32

I have similar shoe needs to yours. They are hard to find. Are you wanting casual or formal wear?

BikeRunSki · 15/04/2012 16:42

On phone, can't do links, but Land's End do a range of sturdy ballet flats and often have a strap style.

captainpig · 15/04/2012 19:53

Great, thanks for all the links, will have a look. Mary Jane style seems to be good.

DD has the kids version of these. They look quite stylish on and don't slip--her heels come to an actual point, they are so narrow.
