Hair colouring advice urgently needed please

I colour my hair to cover the grey.
Natural hair and eyebrow colour is dark brown.
Due to previous colourings my hair is now a mixture of dark brown/grey on the roots, redish in the middle and blondish on the tips.
It's not a good look.
So, my question is, what colour should I next ask the hairdresser to colour it, to best cover the grey? PLEASE HELP!!!

If you want to stay dark brown, I would say semi permanent is your best bet, unless you have a large amount of grey. If you want to avoid red tones, say so, although as you have red tones on it at the moment it might still come through a bit. A chin length bob is another matter, but if you want it and think it will suit your face shape, why not? (but then, I am biased).

Thanks ellangirl. I did want to avoid red but somehow got talked into it last time by the young/trendy thing working in the hairdressers thinking she knew best and it might make me look younger Havent got a large amount of grey TBH. What is the benefit of semi over permanent?

Semi washes out after 6-8 washes. Permanent never washes out, but does fade after a while. I would go for a specific chocolatey brown colour or a auburn colour. I would avoid blonde as I think it makes you look older in my opinion. Plus as you have dark hair with red in it also it will most probably go an orangey colour unless bleached and you really dont want to be bleaching your hair because it ruins it.
