Shrug, wrap or pashmina

Is this too mumsy to go over a dress at a wedding? Dress is knee length and I want to cover up in the church. Love pashminas and scarves however I will be running after my 5 Yo Ds and they will get in the way a bit. I would be able to wear this a lot - more so than something lots of sparkles or lace.

Dress is either:
violet Minuet dress - much nicer on.

this but in dark teal No shoulder corsage but it does have detail on the hip.

Does anyone have a dressy solution?

What about a chiffon cover up, in some shops called a kimono or chiffon jacket.
It's a dressier alternative to the cardigan or jersey shrug and there are lots around on the high street at the moment. They're really easy to wear
here's one example (yes its pink and flowery!) but it's the right kind of shape and idea.

You could also wear this type of sheer jacket afterwards, team with a plain vest or t shirt and a nice pair of jeans and pumps or heels or over a plain dress for another summer day/party.
Here are another couple:

Just one idea for an alternative to the traditional wedding cover ups :-)

OP's suggestions way nicer than the others suggested. They are very mumsy indeed.

I like them cocomama, especially the pink; they seem more casual to me.

All guests will be very dressed up - late afternoon wedding and most people are getting changed. I just want to take my mumsy shrug off.

Don't like facinators or hats but I need to get the rest of my outfit sorted first.

I can't see very well on my phone but is it chunky? If it is i would go for a little cropped cardigan or sheer shrug. I think it would be fine but i would prefer smaller or lighter personally.

Not chunky - jersey lining and silk chiffon.

The teal dress is very dressy and this may tone it down for the day?

I want something I can wear again.

Grey shows drape better. I have ordered both.
