Are these shoes suitable for work?

As a Health Visitor?

Have been in uniform and crocs for so long i have no idea.

I also have heels, but thought these would be sensible and nice for summer here

Wear whatever is most comfortable for you. I disagree with 'conforming' when it comes to footwear. I used to wear heels to the office and now my feet are wrecked.

TheCinnamonGiraffe · 11/04/2012 14:25

I would think they would be fine, judging by what my HV wears there is no rule that you have to wear black at all. Anyway you have to be steady on your feet picking up babies and things, you'd look daft in court shoes or heels imo...I'd get them.

GrimmaTheNome · 11/04/2012 14:27

Much more suitable than anything with heels.

mosschops30 · 11/04/2012 16:09

Thanks all Smile so should i wear these now instead of the heels.

I have two pairs of grey trousers and some casual shirts/tops so i thought 'tan' would be the best colour option

I wouldn't wear grey and tan myself...I always think brown/tan does not look so good with grey.

Are grey trs part of the uniform? I would wear something similar but in black if I had grey trousers.

mosschops30 · 11/04/2012 22:02

No doesnt have to be grey but thats what i bought.

I have such a wide range of coloured tops to wear that i thought tan would be good, plus i have black boots for the winter for work so wanted something lighter.

Go for the red! They look so much nicer imo and usually go with dark grey, navy, and black.

ValentineBombshell · 11/04/2012 22:10

Oh sorry, xposted - am sure the camel are very nice!

MoonlightandRoses · 11/04/2012 22:37

Depending on the shade of grey, tan could look good - are we talking light or dark?

mosschops30 · 12/04/2012 09:18

I have a light grey pair and a slightly darker grey too.
My tops are navy, red, pink, green and blue so ive got to have something to go with all those.
I dont think red would be good.

Think they will look great with the darker ones and you will get away with it for the lighter ones.
Might be worth having a look at Dune, Aldo or Faith online sales too and see if you can pick up a tan and a coloured pair for about the same price as the non-sale HP's?

mosschops30 · 12/04/2012 15:09

Thanks moonlight am going to wander round town later so will look in Dune etc Smile

mosschops30 are these comfortable have you got them yet? I am 32 weeks pregnant and finding my feet hurt in my usual ballet pumps. Love the red ones so very tempted as its that or my havianas which are not v smart and I feel silly in in the rain!

used2bthin · 13/04/2012 07:15

ps I think they'd be fine, from the HV and community HCP I see at work it looks a similar look.

gypsyfloss · 13/04/2012 08:44

Flat comfy shoes that you can slip on and off easily ( and don't get smelly). In a lot of homes you are expected to to de- shoe at the door.I wore insoles in my ballet pumps that I could wash.

I never did " bare feet" in fit flops/birkies although others did. Only because I hate having cold feet and have a horror someone standing on my toes accidentally. I did wear wedges in the summer but only for office days.

In the winter easy access boots with good grippy soles are a must. You are up and down stairs carrying tons baby scales, bags of notes , laptop etc and generally get drenched en route.

mosschops30 · 13/04/2012 08:56

Yes they are super comfy Smile dont know about the red ones as they are a different style but i generally find hush puppies very comfy.
I bought a pair at the beginning of my nursing degree, they lasted the 3 years and looked exactly the same at the end

ah thanks you have reminded me I once had hush puppies boots I got them in the sale they were a real bargain. Wore them for years they were the most comfortable boots ever. Will have a look in Shuh next week.

Glad I saw this I had been looking at seraphine's "made for pregnancy" shoes in desperation!
