Sorry, OP; I think they're awful.

daimbardiva · 10/04/2012 22:38

I reckon it would really depend on what else you wear them with - it could go either way...

SuePoiblybilt · 10/04/2012 22:38

My mum had those exact shoes in 1984. And huge Sue Pollard specs.
A step too far for me.

Pancakeflipper · 10/04/2012 22:39

I remember them....... My mother would be proud to see me wear them.

FunnysInLaJardin · 10/04/2012 22:39

I'm not sure. I remember then first time round and they were hideous then, but now they have a certain retro charm. I would be temptedish

BunnyLebowski · 10/04/2012 22:39

Eeeeeesh! My eyes! They are utterly hideous.

You really had to ask OP?! Shock

cosysocks · 10/04/2012 22:39

Sorry, look a bit old man with socks kind of sandals.

crypes · 10/04/2012 22:40

you Dont happen to be a geography teacher do you?

StickingLaboutin · 10/04/2012 22:40

Absolutely not. Step away from this shoe.

FunnysInLaJardin · 10/04/2012 22:40

I think they need a slightly higher wedge to make them properly now/retro

JoyceDivision · 10/04/2012 22:40

Right, you're all confirming my worst suspicions... I'm not cool or cutting edge trendy enogh to carry them off, less alexa chung, more chunky alex...

right, tht's saved me fifty quid Grin

They must be worn with ankle socks for the true awful effect.

On the other hand they look so comfy....

calzone · 10/04/2012 22:42

Truly hideous!!!!!!

SuePoiblybilt · 10/04/2012 22:42

Ankle socks and midi-skirt. Two inches of blue-white calf flashing seductively betwixt the two.

JoyceDivision · 10/04/2012 22:42

some feckin super model laid back glamour puss will stroll into work carrying them off Envy

chimchar · 10/04/2012 22:43

{whispers}. I like them.

But then I have my own special style. Grin

JoyceDivision · 10/04/2012 22:43

I do have corned beef blue white calves....

Bohica · 10/04/2012 22:44

Are you buying them for your Nan? if they are for you or your um then, yuck

Sorry.

AwkwardMaryHadAnEasterLamb · 10/04/2012 22:44

I would like them if they were a darker brown. That slightly baby poo brown is off putting.

Like Chim I have an odd shoe thing so don't trust me.

Cremeeggsandkitkatsoldiers · 10/04/2012 22:45

I don't think they're retro because they never went out of fashion with nuns and old ladies, so how can they come around to be back "in"?

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 10/04/2012 22:45

These are the perfect accompaniment Grin

MamaChoo · 10/04/2012 22:45

Love them. Would totally buy them except for the price is not quite 70s enough for my liking. £12, surely!

mariel · 10/04/2012 22:45

er... i HAD those shoes in 1976...as did my brother and sister...so it's a no from me i'm afraid!

Voidka · 10/04/2012 22:46

My Mum had those - she used to wear them with white pleated skirts.
