Sorry about thread title. Hope everyone is back from holidays soon and will find us here.

amber Which JBrands did you get?

bonsoir I tried on those two tops in Cos before Easter and was tempted too. Bought a simple navy dress in Cos and shoes, which are not on the website Hmm. Will return this top. Cos is great at the moment I think.

First link was supposed Dinny Hall.

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/04/2012 18:50

MIM - what everyone else has said. I always think of a piece India Knight wrote saying that basically when you're an adult no-one asks how you were fed/when you walked/when you spoke/what you got in your gcse's and its so true.

Dauphin - hope your Dad is ok and lordy you must be looking super slinky. I dare not even weigh myself but am obsessed with examining my rear view from behind and ladies I am broad!

I write this as I stand here eating chocolate cake instead of supper Hmm

I'm over bum40 woman now as Hopefully has said its just too samey and also she's just such a different shape/size/colouring to me its hard to get inspired. Do like her writing though.

Off to London tomorrow so very excited about my day off Smile

Russianred · 20/04/2012 19:02

Have just cooked a lovely dish and am awaiting my friend's arrival, one glass of wine down already. Lovely.

Day in London sounds like the tonic I need MrsCB - what are your plans? Let me live vicariously...

Ollie I very much like the MV bag. Very versatile.

Sounds exciting Hopefully, lovely part of the SW to be. Planning on driving through Bristol?!

Sorry to hear about your dad Dauphin.

Excellent work at the sale Ants - a deeply bargainous haul.
Am enjoying this striped tee very much as I'm never going to shell out £85 for the Farhi onei realy want. Which colour though?

MarshaBrady · 20/04/2012 19:04

Dauphin hope your Dad is well very soon. Well done on the running! What time do you usually go?

I just did shred. The children joined in with wooden skittles. Quite cute Grin

I do love doing it. Feel great!

Hopefully · 20/04/2012 19:10

Red not this time, but (and this really is going to be such hard work) it has been suggested that I get to know Cribbs Causeway quite well as it is one of the best destinations for personal shopping aspect of new work within driving distance. So, you know, I have to have a couple of outings there Grin

Russianred · 20/04/2012 19:12

Well just give me a shout when you are Hopefully - am 15 mins away from it. That's going to be quite a chore for you, you know.

Hopefully · 20/04/2012 19:16

I'm dreading it Wink

ApuskiMcClusky · 20/04/2012 20:16

Ha, I'm all for helping you find your way around too Hopefully, even though I try very hard to avoid going there but only to stop spending money

Fleecy · 20/04/2012 20:17

Sorry to hear about your Father dauphin

ny I have that Chinti & Parker dress and it's been a real wardrobe star. It's quite a lightweight fabric so not just wintry. I've worn it with leopard print ankle boots and bib necklace for a night out, fur gilet and flat riding boots for day, opaques and heels for work and am planning to push up sleeves and wear with flat sandals and bare legs in summer. Hope you like it as much as I do. Smile

hopefully all sounds very exciting!

mrscb your wedge trainers thread is proving divisive. I can't wait for mine to arrive but not sure if I'll carry them off. Hope so. Also, I got DH to take pics of me in my tightest jeans and oddly enough I look better than I thought from the back but worse from the front Confused

bloss and others on mfp - can you send me a message with your user names so I can befriend you on there? I always do better when I feel I have to be accountable!

Fleecy · 20/04/2012 20:20

Oh and DS got into DD's school so that was a relief. Except that the Ofsted report was published today and it's gone from good to satisfactory and seems to be a real mixed bag for teaching. Worries me slightly - DD's only in reception and they got a great write up. We assumed the rest of the school would be equally good but apparently not any more...

Have pm'd you fleecy.
I am picturing decam surrounded by party tat slightly sozzled Wink

OllieinOrange · 20/04/2012 21:20

I know 3 glasses of prosecco can bring out my inner WAG but I quite like this KM dress here

OllieinOrange · 20/04/2012 21:27

Yes yes to the image of Decam Bloss. Very funny.

notyummy · 20/04/2012 21:28

ollie- that dress is nice. KM gets a bad press on MN IMHO. It is true that done of their stuff is a bit 'magpie' like, but there are some great dresses and tops if you choose wisely. I have a couple of dresses that I have worn on and off for years- and the top I wore at the MU was KM. I may be biased because they seem to cut well for pears- less so apparently if you have bigger boobs or or apple shaped.

Fleecy- great to hear good things about the dress. I was a bit torn when ordering about whether it was too classic, but your ideas of how to wear it sound inspired. Go on FLE- you know you want to!

So sorry to hear about your father Dauphin.

OllieinOrange · 20/04/2012 21:45

NY yes, I seem to suit the KM dress shape too. I just wish I had the lifetstyle to justify more party dresses.

Ants what a lovely sounding haul. Really love how you wet along to shop for a friend and came away with some things that sound as if they were meant for you.

ApuskiMcClusky · 20/04/2012 21:46

NY, when I saw the C&P dress link I immediately went to try to buy it, sadly not in my size. Go for it FLE!

OllieinOrange · 20/04/2012 21:51

Does anyone have any maxi dresses that are looser fitting on the top half so look like a vest top bagged out over the skirt? Am wondering if they are ok or just add bulk to hip area? Cant find the one I have seen over here to link to.

Background - 4 weeks til we go on holiday and Im starting to panic I dont have anything suitable for a resort based holday, particularly evenings.

notyummy · 20/04/2012 21:55

Apuski- I got the last one in 'small'- and the last pair of jeans in my size as well. When I looked later they were both sold out. I guess you would probably need an XS in the dress. I am hoping the guidance about being true to size is correct- if it is a small 10 then it may not fit...

Decameron · 20/04/2012 21:59

Hi, I have only just finished clearing up. DD1 enjoyed her birthday, we had eight 4yos, three 2 yos and two 10 month olds. It was a bit crazy but the kids were great. DD1 was so thrilled with her cat-shaped cake that she kissed it. Bloss, the pinata was a Hello Kitty one, in fact it was a Hello Kitty extravaganza, eek. I didn't have any prosecco, too busy! The mothers are very nice, it was a good afternoon.

Amber, glad you had a good night out.

Wore this top today and one of DD1's little friends admired it, she's now my favourite!

Suburban, yes, any excuse to open a bottle! Hope you enjoy your party.

Dauphin, really sorry about your dad.

Ollie, your dh is a brave man heading off in this weather.

Ants, sounds like a very successful shopping trip.

Red, hope you have a good weekend.

I have a bit of a skinny jeans uniform so feel validated by the 40yo blog. Wink I like that FC top she recommends but no mediums left.

NY, great dresses.

Mim, please don't feel bad about not bf, at least you tried. Neither of mine were bf for more than the first day or two and they seem to be surviving.

Must go to bed, long day zzzzzzzzzzz

blossoming · 20/04/2012 22:38

Hope you had a nice night out dauphin. So sorry to hear about your dad. How tall are you again?
mim, sorry you're feeling unhappy at the outcome. It's okay you know. Like has already been said, it doesn't matter in the long term. My decision was based on knowing that I was exclusively ff, and have been perfectly fine all my life.
Nice top decam. She had good taste!

Decameron · 20/04/2012 22:40

Forgot to say, Blue, Zara have printed jeans similar to J Brand.

Also, I think this is a really nice idea, maybe they do this in every school, but in DD1's school you can buy a book from the school's Amazon wishlist on your child's birthday, the school receptionist then puts the child's name and age in the book and it is given to their class library. DD1 chose a book for us to order this morning to celebrate her birthday.

bretonbee · 20/04/2012 23:07

May have just sneakily bought the FC 40bum top too so thanks Mim - total bargain...well I did have to go on ebay to pay for my DS octonauts puzzle anyway....

Love the outnet purchases too ny especially the CeMe dress.

Hopefully congratulations on your move, that sounds very exciting to be planning a new career and move. Wishing you all the best with everything.

Went on a cooking course today...french bistro classics. It was really fun and good to do something different. Had a very stressful week at work so it was the perfect antidote as I couldn't be obsessively checking my blackberry for work problems and DS had a fab time playing with his grandparents. Delicious too but am exhausted now (especially as managed to fit in a level 2 shred this evening, very impressed with myself)

Last thing from me - if anyone looking for a bronzer I would really recommend this chanel one, you apply a tiny amount with a large brush so I think it will last for ages.

FritziGreenEyes · 21/04/2012 06:50

Quick post from Berlin. Enjoying a cup of tea in lovely hotel bed before tough day of work. Had a bit of drama at hone. Big argument with DH about the usual stuff. So draining and pointless really...

Have only skim read the thread. So many lovely links Smile

mim Wise words from others on this thread. You have to do what works best for you and your DD. You have gone through so much during your pregnancy, so be kind to yourself now.

dauphin Sorry to hear about your dad.

suburban Hope you'll find out soon what triggers your skin problems. Have you tried Oilatum? Think it's available at Boots.

The sun is finally out and it feels like spring. Have great weekends everyone!

MidnightinMoscow · 21/04/2012 07:23

Morning.

Decam glad the party went well, and DD enjoyed herself. The NF top is very pretty. Smile at your new favourite.

Fritzi hope you are ok. Arguments with DH just before you part company are always draining, I agree. Hope you patch things up together.

Dauphin Sorry to hear about your Dad, an Un-MN hug for you.

Cooking course sounds great Breton, what did you make? Agree the Renoir is a bargain.

Good schools news for you too Fleecy.

I really laughed at your slutty dress comment Amber - you have a way with words. Grin

Have a great day today MrsCB looking forward to the Ash report.

Sunny day here, and I am getting my hair done at 9am, cannot wait.

Thank you all again for your advice and reassurances, I felt a lot better about things last night and it was the first evening that I actually relaxed, had a glass of wine and didn't feel tearful.

Back later.
