What are People Tree clothes like?

They've sent me a catalogue and some of the clothes look lovely, has anyone bought anything from them? Is the quality decent? Do the clothes wash well etc. or do they shrink?

A bit more expensive than I'd normally pay so just wanted to check before ordering anything...thanks in advance!

I've had a few bits over the years and sadly have had to send almost everything back. Zips broke, hems frayed, that kind of thing. Haven't had anything from there for a few years so maybe they've improved.

Oh... well, just to confuse you, I've had a totally different experience with them, have bought quite a few things over the last few years - clothes, a bag, jewellery - and loved all of it! And it's all lasted really well. Just about to put another order in, as it happens :)

I really like their stuff too. Just bought a lovely dress from there. I think it's good quality. Very nice heavyweight cotton.

I've had a few items of clothing and they are still kicking around my wardrobe. Well worn yet still looking great after years. Love them.

I have this Orla Kiely yellow trench coat from them (in the sale - they still have them left though) and it's fantastic.

MyleeneCrass · 19/04/2012 17:08

It was all really poor quality when I bought from there. I sent it all back

MyleeneCrass · 19/04/2012 17:09

Is the orla trench shower proof?

noddyholder · 19/04/2012 17:09

Hit and miss but they look lovely on. My brother films their campaigns

This week ethical superstore have 20% off all people tree, if it helps make your decision - I've been wondering about a dress.

vesela · 19/04/2012 17:20

Myleene - no, it's not showerproof, I was going to add that. It's just heavy cotton (and lined in cotton) so it's more like a jacket from that point of view. But I prefer it to a jacket because it's long.

It's hit and miss. My problem with them was sizing - they had a really odd cut to the clothes. Tops were very baggy and boxy but then for the trousers weirdly cinched at the waist. I'm a size 10 but had to have their size 10 trousers let out because the waist was more of a size 6!

Maybe it's just the perils of online shopping
