Size 16? What knickers do you wear?

I am a size 16 on my bottom half and, whilst my tummy is not that bad, I do have an overhang after 2 c-sections so I like knickers that are quite high up and I can tuck my tummy into Blush

I have always worn thongs for this reason but quite fancy some shorts-type knickers as they look a bit more classy - however, I am concerned that they will just sit under my overhang and exaggerate/not contain it.

As I can't really go and try knickers on, what do those of you who are a size 16 wear?

French knicker style Knickers - I too have a overhang but find these comfy without being frumpy Smile

I am a size 16 bottom half and have only my food baby to blame for my over hang, i have no thongs i wear briefs and shorts. Like these and these

I am a granny at heart [bugrin]

I'm a size 16 and either wear thongs or Brazilian knickers. I prefer the Brazilian cut over shorts as they're more flattering especially on the bottom and you don't get VPL.

This kind of thing

Size 16 here. With c-section and food baby tummy Grin.
Granny or not, I'm a m & s high leg girl. And I buy size 18 for extra comfort Blush.

Dawndonna · 09/04/2012 22:26

I'm a sixteen too, and I have the c section overhang (twins)!

I wear the M&S or Next shorts. Can't stand thongs, they always feel like your arse is trying to eat your undies!

ScarfOfSexualPreference · 09/04/2012 23:19

Have you tried Primark? You can get a pair for £1, no they don't last but they do nice shorts you could get a cheap pair to try. I like the cute designs....

ceebeegeebies · 10/04/2012 08:21

Thanks for all the suggestions - so those of you that wear the short-type knickers, can you tuck your tummy into them as all the photos show them sitting quite low which I think would just sit under my overhang and make it a million times worse!

I'm a 12 but love either m&s brazilians with the wide lace or m&s midis
Tbh I love m&s midis here the best.
I had an ECS for first squid and they made a v shaped incision...the other 2 sections on top make midis a good choice
Try the midis........

HouseLikeAZoo · 10/04/2012 08:56

Another vote for the M&S Brazilian knickers - I'm a size 16 with a c-section "shelf" and I find they are the most flattering. Loads of different colours to choose from too Smile

talkingnonsense · 10/04/2012 09:05

Do the brazillian Knicks not ride up your bum? I have some triumph pants that are kind of high cut at the back ( I think it's meant to avoid vpl) but they end up like a thong.

ggirltwin2pinot · 10/04/2012 09:15

these babies but in a size smaller they come up huge

lilbitneurotic · 10/04/2012 09:22

Also, if you're really worried M&S do a short and a low-rise short, I prefer the low-rise but the other shorts come up higher and you could definitely tuck a tummy in them.

startail · 10/04/2012 09:30

Another 16 wearer of assorted Marks knickers. Midi, high legs and shorts. I like high legs best I think. Shorts tend to slip down my large bum.

High waisted knickers are comfy, but you need sensible High waisted trousers (please tell be where to get some). Or they come above your jeans and even under a long top that feels wrong.

MadamePinot · 10/04/2012 09:37

Well now. I had no idea it was OK to embrace the big knick. I've been wearing marksies minis for donkeys years and having the gruesome c/s overhang visible.

fucking muppet I am.

So age 36 I'm-a-gonna get me some big pants!

MadamePinot · 10/04/2012 09:37

talkingnonsense my bum eats those shorts too. They end up more like a thong. Blee.

PeskyPiskie · 10/04/2012 09:44

I also have the c-section overhang and considerable bulk from too much food. I go for high leg pants, the most comfortable so far being from Sainsbury's, but I might invest Sad in some from M&S as they seem to be very well thought of.

Msarsebiscuit · 10/04/2012 10:00

3 caesareans and another vote for the Brazilians, don't settle below the cs shelf, not so frumpy that should George Clooney be moonlighting as a paramedic and pick you up post RTA you'd be devastated and just the right amount of arse disguise.
