Chunky necklaces - advice needed

Our first DC is due in a few weeks and DH wants to get me something to celebrate.

I think people traditionally get an eternity ring but I'd really like to get a chunky necklace instead. The only thing is, I'm not really sure what the proper term is for what I'm after. I like the ones that are like a twisted strip of metal that go around your neck, and don't neccessarily fasten at the end. I also quite like chokers.

Whatever I get has to be something that's going to age reasonably well but I don't want it to look to fusty either. I am fairly sturdily built so I think the necklace shouldn't be too delicate either!

Can anyone help? I know what sort of thing I want but just can't find it on any jewelry websites, maybe because I don't know the proper words to use during a search?

Have you taken a look at Stella & Dot? That may well be worth a look and they have beautiful pieces. What a lovely idea for a present.

It might be a torc necklace.

FoxinSocks it came over from the US and has taken the UK by storm. Great in house stylists with lots of fair trade/Eco policies which are great. I will be running a competition on my blog soon with some Stella & Dot jewellery as the prize so keep your eyes open!
