A bit fed up: I got my summer clothes down from the loft today and am not enthused. They have been bought over a period of around 5 years (nothing summery ever gets worn out apart from cardis ...), and some of them are now too big as I lost weight a couple of years ago. They are all a bit mix and match ...

Has anyone ever chucked previous seasons' clothes out to make room for a small capsule wardrobe? Did you ever regret it? I feel like I could get by if I just bought less but bought them all at the same time iyswim.

Definitely! I do it with my clients all of the time. A few well fitting staples will stand you in much better stead. A few blog posts on this subject are about to follow soon!

I sort of have...I went out shopping for a few new things, saw how much better they looked because they were the correct size and not worn out or several years old, then I had a huge and ruthless clear out.

Another few trips to the shops and a few returns and swapping items later and I feel like a new woman! Definitely worth it, I'd actually forgotten how much I love clothes. Getting ready in the morning is so much easier even though I have slightly less items.

I've lost quite a bit of baby weight (two babies worth), the things that are too big went straight to the charity shop, they make you look bigger than you are imo.

The only thing that I need to get now is some sort of going out wardrobe, this will be slightly trickier as I haven't been out out as it were for about 3 years...

Cinnamon if you add a blazer, a piece of statement jewellery a sparkly top and some heels you will be well on your way!
