Tights with peep toes?

I have never worn tights with peep toes before but it seems to becoming more OK these days. I have a v fitted black dress (to just below the knee) and black peep toes to wear at party this weekend and wondering if tights would be OK? if so what colour? It's quite a posh party and I'm a bit unsure so help please!

Toeless tights are the way to go like these. They look a bit odd without shoes but fine with open toe shoes.

looks like it! I did try those kind of tights before but you could see the start of the toeless bit because of the cut of the shoe if you know what I mean? And they drove me nuts! My friend suggested nude micro fishnets but I'm not sure if I would like ridiculous in them or not.

Hate hate hate tights with sandals/ peeptoes. Might be my age- in my youth (a long time ago) it was really naff as were flesh toned tights. Mind you the Middletons wear them now so perhaps flesh coloured tights not naff anymore

I think it depends on the shoe. I've got some gorgeous brown leather ones and the cut out bit of the peep toe is so small you can barely see any toe. I think these look great with opaque tights but a bigger hole where you can see lots of toe I'm not so sure.

I dunno - had myself all kitted out for Easter Sunday (family dinner) - dress peep toe wedges - then it was cold - tried the tights with peep toes (now they were opaques) but they just didn't look right - so wore ballerinas instead.

You can get tights without a seam across the toes I had them a long time ago from house of Fraser.
Nude I would think so that you can't see them through the peep toe.

I had a night duv with a friend last week and she wore a pencil skirt with lacy tights and peep toes. she looked fab. quite 1950's sexy!

Oh I don't knowing to do now! I have no other shoes that I can really year with this dress but don't want to look hideous!. ny legs need some help! maybe I should just year ny usual uniform of black trousers but I feel like making an effort.

If it's an evening do then you should be able to get away with nude 'sandal toe' tights. However, given current temperatures, opaques (either black or as a 'colour pop' in turquoise / blue / green etc.,) could work well.

It is an evening do (quite a 'dressy' one) and I don't think I could carry off coloured tights to be honest and sandal toes are a no no for me. Opaques would make the whole outfit too 'black'. Maybe I'll have to buy different shoes after all but budget is V tight just now.

I agree with Megatron that lacy tights and peeptoes can look very flirtatious. Or you could try black fishnets?

I think fishnet or micronet in black or nude would look fine. This looks hideous where as this looks fine to me. Saved the best til last.

These are great looks Dolly, especially the first one. So maybe all is not lost? Maybe I'll buy a pair of lacy numbers and just try it and see how it looks then Blue. I can just see what's going to happen, I will be in a total panic half an hour before I go out tryng to slap fake tan on to my pasty chunky monkey legs!

Oh and who would have thought that a pair of flippin' tights would cause me such drama! I need to get out more.

good thread :) I like those open toe tights I wore them to a wedding last year. Vair nice and my thighs felt all glidey and girly.

Nooo I meant it seriously - little issues like this actually make alot of difference! It's all in the details innit. Like correct fitting bras, big pants and toe less tights.

I luffs stuff like this where you learn all the little tips.

Erm..... not sure what to think of that first link Dollydowser (The This looks hideous one). It does indeed look hideous but there seems to be lots of similar photos with detailed description and odd comments. Is this some kind of speciality fetish? wtf? I thought foot fetishes would be about pretty painted toed feet in sexy stilettos not tights in Clarks springers. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick and it's just like a fashion blog type thing?

Sorry I think I'm being very naive and over thinking too much, is it a man in the pics? Just cos it's saying I always wanted these sandals and I thought well why couldn't you just get them then?

Not judging or anything, each to their own, it's just the putting it on the internet for others to enjoy that intrigues/fascinates me.

Oops, sorry, by "sandal toe" I meant the ones Purplehonesty mentioned upthread - they are not the same as the toeless ones. Maybe, If you don't feel up to fishnets, go for a pewter / dark grey opaque instead? If you have a bright bag or something dramatic in the jewellery line that would lift it too.

Operation tights is complete. I have bought nude micronets and black lacy ones so shall sashay around the house tonight (when I say sashay, I do of course mean lumber aimlessly) and see if they are both awful!
