Gp gave me a prescription forit. Do i just use it like a moisturiser? Day and night or day only? I have to use seperate sunscreen as it makes the skin photo sensitive ( i think that's the term)

I've got a type of it too for acne. I apply a very thin film of it on the affected areas after I've cleansed and toned at night.

I had to build up to using it with small amounts on one area then gradually trying it elsewhere. My skin is very sensitive and some areas of my face just can't tolerate it.

Yes use sunscreen and also be careful rubbing or scratching your face, I do that absent-mindedly sometimes and next thing it's all red and painful!

I have some for anti-ageing.
To avoid it causing flakiness try to put it on about 30mins after you have washed and dried your face.
I only use it at night but I am not sure what you should do if it's for acne. It should say on the tube how often to apply if it's been prescribed by your GP.

forgot to say it's working well for my acne but it took a good 4 weeks before I could see an improvement.

What percentage have you been given? I used 0.01%(or maybe it was 0.1%) for a few years. 35 weeks pregnant with my first now so haven't used it in almost two years.

I found the best way to apply mine was to cleanse and moisturise then use it on top after 20 minutes or so. I could never use mine during the day because it tended to create a very thin film over my skin and foundation or indeed anything on top caused it to rub off.
Definitely use a high factor SPF. Khiels or MAC do a great factor 50 without the oil slick.

This is the best skincare cream available and it treats so many things, but suncream everyday is must. Use sparingly at night only. You may experience redness and flaking initially, if so skip a night and/or use every other night until you have built up some tolerance. You'll see an excellent result over time.

It is an absolute miracle product It comes in different strength prescriptions here (Canada...I use .01%) and different vehicle lotions (gel or cream, depending on the desired application). I use it nightly and every morning I use La Roche-Posay Anthelios sunscreen. You want to use a tiny pea-sized amount and apply only to problem areas (avoid creases of nose and possibly naso-labial folds). Moisturizer first, then retin-A. Good Luck .

Ohhh, thanks ggirl. Would never, ever have thought to order from that site. It looks very odd. Very odd indeed. However will cast aside nasty aspersions and order later tonight.

I also use Retin-A, I have it for acne, though I use it for anti-aging as well. I just got a prescription over the phone from my GP, so not much hassle at all.

At the start it is best to use only the tiniest amount, as your skin can take a while to get used to it. If you find your skin is becoming sensitive to it (redness, peeling, etc) then use it every 2-3 days and/or reduce the amount you apply. Gradually over time your skin becomes more tolerant to it. I only apply mine at night, I cleanse and tone my face and then apply it without applying any moisturiser.

Personally I have never noticed any extra sensitivity to the sun (I'm olive skinned and don't tend to burn anyway) plus I always use a moisturiser with sunscreen regardless.

So my Retin-A cream arrived, people. With a bottle of Extra-Lean fat busting tablets worth £20.

Was it a free gift? DH ordered cream (PayPal in his name) so did he slip in fat busting tablets?

And the worst part is, I'm actually tempted to try then.

Sounds extremely dodgy, the stuff is probably fake. The only way you can be sure it's ok is if it's from a registered pharmacy and you will need a prescription for that. Use the OCM for 2 weeks and you will have lovely huge red spots that means gp would prescribe!

So the fat busters appear to be a free gift as husband denies all knowledge and PayPal account hasn't been charged for them. Yeah, for me! Not only will I be de-wrinkled, I shall be thin too.

I shall indeed update you on the Retin-A. It does look authentic which is good enough for me. It had a proper seal and everything.

Girl, where did you get it? I want it for anti - ageing but can't work out how to get it without a prescription cheaply. I have got mild acne but tbh I've spent my life at the gps recently due to an ongoing health problem and I think they're sick the sight of me! Are we talking about tretinoin?
