cheepy ones=one per leg
venus=one for the whole lot, the one by the shower for the pits lasts about a month.

Oh FGS Havingkittens. It was clearly a joke, one that the OP pretty much made herself. Blimey.

pluckingupcourage · 05/04/2012 17:10

I am very hairy, I use a man's mach 3 and just replace the blade maybe once a month. Sorry if this is an obvious questions, but are you sure that you're rinsing the blades enough between passes?
I find disposable razors a complete waste of time and generally get hideous rashes if I use one on holiday btw.

Bunbaker · 05/04/2012 17:31

"As I said the mens bic twin are good. I use two per session"

But they can't be if you are using two per session. Assuming you are shaving at least once a week that is 104 razors a year to add to landfill. It is far more environmentally friendly to buy a better quality razor and use replacement blades. Added to that the quality of blade is far superior so you won't be changing blades as often. I have used disposables on holiday and they simply aren't as good as the Gillette Venus. I urge you to give it a try.

"Oh FGS Havingkittens. It was clearly a joke, one that the OP pretty much made herself. Blimey."

Oh, that's ok then.

The thing with self deprecation is that people often make the jokes themselves as a defense mechanism or because underneath it all they are fed up with the reality the joke is based on. It's just kinder not to join in with the mocking.

I am not necessarily speaking on behalf of the OP because perhaps it doesn't bother her as it does me, and obviously the comments made weren't aimed at me either but I do hear a lot of people making piss taking remarks about women who are cursed with a lot more body/facial hair than they would like to have. People seem to think it's ok. The same people who wouldn't dream of making similar remarks about other things that may cause insecurities.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 05/04/2012 17:43

If the OP finds my comment offensive then I'll apologise. Clearly it wasn't aimed at you.

Havingkittens · 05/04/2012 17:54

No, sorry. Maybe I'm a bit defensive and I didn't mean to have a dig actually. I was just trying to make people understand, in the earlier post I referred to, that despite jokes made at ones own expense it isn't always nice to hear others making comments to you like "are you a yeti/troll/gorilla?"

I don't want to have a fight or disagreement, that wasn't my intention. I just want people to understand that these types of comments are not always water off a duck's back.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 05/04/2012 18:23

Then I'm sorry too Kittens. Smile

BulletProof · 05/04/2012 18:29

It's not sleeveless/bare legs season yet! Save your money, use zero!
;)

I know what you mean kittens - I am also pretty hairy and just come back from salon after spending about 40 quid on removing from pretty much everywhere. I am talking legs, underarms, top lip, brows, toes, knuckles, forearms etc. Sad Couldn't cope with bikini today but doing that next week.

I do find waxing the best though. Yes, the first session is hell but after that when the hairs are all growing at different times it is much better and gets easier every time. (glass of Wine or ibuleve on before helps if really hairy! Grin)

Out of interest has anyone tried laser removal?

picnicbasketcase · 06/04/2012 19:57

Gillette Venus - I only have to replace the blade about every three months and my legs are really quite hairy. Disposable razors are crap. And you really should use shaving gel so they slide properly, I just use whatever DP has in the bathroom because stuff intended for women seems to cost about three times as much as mens.

LolaAnn · 06/04/2012 21:25

umm i use the same blunt tesco value razor for a couple of weeks and shave pits and pubes daily, legs every other day haha. works fine for me :)
