I feel like this should be in AIBU...

AIBU to love these shoes

I feel like they could be the answer to all my summer footwear problems. I need comfortable shoes and am clueless once boots will no longer do.

I see them with long floaty skirts, shorter denim style skirts, slim or cropped trousers, shorts....

What do you think. Am I kidding myself? I'm 42 and think my style is just the right side of mumsy, but certainly not cutting edge

Not sure sorry

ChablisLover · 02/04/2012 20:41

My sil has this and they look v comfy.
Not sure how I would wear them but he was wearing them with bootcut jeans and a summey floral top.

babylann · 02/04/2012 20:44

Not sure if they look like shoes I'd want to wear in summer really. But my feet get really hot so I like a less rigid shoe in the sun. They're nice though.

freeforall · 02/04/2012 21:03

I thought that from the pic babyann, but I saw them in RL today and they're butter soft leather and the flowery design is all open cut-out work. I'm not good with sandals, my feet are ruined from running 40 miles+ per week.

I like them. Have you tried them on?

JoyceDivision · 02/04/2012 21:08

Hmm, they are quite nice, but they are verging on pensioner shoes... I think you'll need to be a bit 'trendy' dressed to carry them off.... not too bad tho...

JoyceDivision · 02/04/2012 21:11

Definately not for the corned beef of leg though!

SpanglyGiraffe · 02/04/2012 21:15

I quite like them. Brogues are definitely the thing to wear atm! I couldn't pull them off in a million years, but lots of people i know wear similar things (I'm 21)

dingdong3 · 02/04/2012 21:16

Are these not the ones that featured in a previous post? Seem to remember the OP being slated for suggesting them! I quite like them myself but like Chablis Lover, I'm not sure what I would wear with them and if I could pull them off.

drywhiteplease · 02/04/2012 21:18

Look nice in the ad but aproach with caution in RL......I have seen brogue types look trendy though.

piratecat · 02/04/2012 21:20

not for me sorry.

bad enough the first time round, really bad!

maybenow · 02/04/2012 21:23

i don't like them... but i think i might try these on: www.clarks.co.uk/p/20348748

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 02/04/2012 21:25

I am sorry to say this but

NO NO NO they are hidious.

But I am not going to buy them so does that matter really Grin

rookiemater · 02/04/2012 21:44

Ummm what can I say, well brogues aren't for me but I guess as brogues go they are umm well interesting.

I like the ones maybenow has posted.

StarryEyedYoghurt · 02/04/2012 21:48

Ooh, I love these shoes! My boss (aged 40) wears them for work and they look incredible on and she says they're very comfy - go for it Grin

LoopyLoopsIsTentativelyBack · 02/04/2012 22:12

Sorry they are vile.

I like maybenbow's though.

carrielou2007 · 02/04/2012 22:42

Now this is where I think if you just hang on for a bit they will be half price in the sale as no-one will ever ever buy those hideous shoes!!

Sorry, know we are all different and all that but they are more than a that's not my cup of tea, they are pensioner shoes!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 02/04/2012 22:44

If you are around 65 they will go nicely with your comfort fit tapered elasticated waist jeans.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 02/04/2012 22:46

They remind me of my grandmothers shoes, sorry.

sansucre · 02/04/2012 22:51

Love them. Been looking at these quite a bit too and saw a girl wearing them today and they looked amazing. I guess like most things, it's how you wear them. I think brogues don't actually look great on everybody but these are softer and more forgiving for it.

I currently have a beautiful pair of white lambskin brogues from Robert Clergerie but want to keep them pristine for as long as possible and think this pair from Clarks are good for work and battering day to day, plus they're so cute. Really reasonably priced too!

A girl I work with has last years version and she says they're the comfiest thing ever.

sansucre · 02/04/2012 22:56

I think the shoes maybehow posted are really rather frumpy and bland, the kind of thing that's worn to try to look young but fails miserably. Apologies btw.. I guess everybody has very different tastes, thankfully, the world would be very boring if we all liked the same things :o

Dawndonna · 02/04/2012 23:00

I think they look like old granny shoes. Sorry.
