Unruly Brows - any recommendations?

Mum and I have thick, dense dark brows. We have them threaded ? so shape is great.

But?could do with something really ?firm hold? to keep them in place. Individual hairs are quite long. My mums grow downwards somehow! I don?t think the wax with powder palettes will do it.

I know the old hairspray on a toothbrush trick but its not very convenient and excess lacquer on the face - not nice!!

I have just bought this brow kit by sleek it has a wax and a powder, 2 angled brushes and mini tweezers. Amazing! It comes in medium or dark, got it from superdrug

You could use men's hair styling wax (in a little pot) or clear mascara.

You need to trim them if hairs are too long.

Brush them upwards and trim along top of brow line

Then brush them donwwards and trim along bottom line of brow

Makes a massive difference

Liz Hurley swear by it

Yes, what cyb said. 'tis the best way by far.

I get the best result by trimming before plucking.

sedgieloo · 02/04/2012 13:21

Thanks, threading lady does the trimming. I need something firm hold for grooming. I'm going to look at the sleek thing. Also looking at Benefit speed brow. I was thinking about the hair wax or a good mascara, just not sure which make to go for...

Well, if the hairs are still flopping and flipping about then she needs to do a better job of trimming. Wax / spray / other shit shouldn't be necessary if they've been groomed properly in the first place.

J'agree

sedgieloo · 02/04/2012 14:01

Ok! Honestly my threader woman is brills, but mothers grow downwards from the arch onwards and stubbonly want to stay there, I've not seen anything quite like it. Whether it is how she sleeps I can't imagine. Yes when mine are newly done, they will stay put ok, but still like some decent grooming product. Mum - definately needs something, she uses an old drying up mascara now. Would like to treat her to something for the purpose.

makeupalley just suggested pritt-stick, apparently really works with the worse kind of brows - not what I had in mind!!!

I use a brow gel from No7, it seems to do the trick. It's just like a clear mascara.

Mummybear888 · 02/04/2022 09:56

@sedgieloo did you ever find a decent brow gel for your brows?

I have the same problem - disobedient brows !
