DD (9) is invited to a fancy dress party and wants to go as an Edwardian schoolgirl with ringlets. She's got pretty fine very straight hair, just beyond shoulder length and it never seems to hold a style in. Any tips for doing ringlets and getting them to stay in? xxx

Rag curls and old fashioned setting lotion.

More info on that please redrubyshoes. I am hairstyle illiterate.

Old fashioned setting lotion. It comes in a wee blue bottle from superdrug. Put it in a spray bottle and spray onto clean dry hair. Roll hair in sponge rollers and sleep in them overnight.

Ah, so you wouldn't put it onto wet hair then? The party is late afternoon so if I did it overnight then do you think it would last until then?

Also what sort of shape do I roll the hair into to get ringlets rather than just curls?

do it the morning of the party if she has fine hair

Good luck. Smile
