Wedding reception outfit?

Hi there

I'm looking for some inspiration! I'm going to an evening reception for the wedding of my colleague. I honestly have no clue what to wear if it is just the reception? Same as if you were going to the wedding itself or a bit more casual? The reception itself is in a pub, but quite a posh one that specialises in wedding receptions.

I'm a size 12, 5 ft 8 and prefer dresses. Budget can probably stretch to Reiss / French Connection level but under that is obviously preferable!

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Anyone? Do I assume something not too fancy?

Well, I'm no expert on the style and beauty thread, but I'd say you wear the equivalent "poshness" of the day guests, as they won't be going home and getting changed, they'll still be in the same clothes. Just without the hat / fascinator.
