are you counting corset type things?

Rocketfox · 30/03/2012 21:57

Post DC3, 6mo, my tats change size every half an hour... so I have only one bra. But I need to buy a new one every 3 weeks. Costing me a fecking fortune. I've gone from 32k to 30 E. In 6 months. Gah. I have the anita underwired one(s) (tis fab) in black. No help to you of course, just needed to vent!!

EnjoyResponsibly · 30/03/2012 22:14

Black, nude, White, foxy, sports, t shirt, strapless

Liveinthepresent · 30/03/2012 22:17

southeast haven't really got that far but good point.

Rocketfox it's ok I think I share your pain - I keep waiting until I am sure the size has settled but meanwhile ill fitting bras are rather depressing.

I am rapidly losing weight so there's not a great deal of point in buying lots of bras. Just got another delivered today. Now I have one every day bra and a sports bra.

However when I reach my target weight, I will be looking back at this thread for tips!

Liveinthepresent · 30/03/2012 23:07

Totally forgot about sports - says it all really!

rusmum · 30/03/2012 23:10

Debka how?

Liveinthepresent · 30/03/2012 23:36

I need to know about weightless too really but may digress from my original question!

ItWasThePenguins · 30/03/2012 23:40

White and nude. Suited me fine.

debka · 31/03/2012 09:23

Tapeworm Grin

No, not really, Slimming World. It's just really clicked with me. I've gone from a 26 to a 20, bra size 42J to 38JJ yesterday Grin

ifancyashandy · 31/03/2012 09:40

NEED? You can't discuss lingerie and use the word need!!

I cannot count the number may have quite a few underwear sets. In a variety of colours. With two sets of knickers for each bra (thong & shorts). I may have many duplicate colours. They are all necessary & go with certain outfits bedroom moods

I do not understand this concept of need! Grin

notapizzaeater · 31/03/2012 09:47

Snap I lost a lot of weight so got rid of a load last year was Blush to realise I had over 30 ..... Worse thing is in the last year I now own probably the same amount but only seem to wear 3 of them Angry

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 31/03/2012 10:10

How do you measure bra size? I thought that the number was the back measurment but after losing a bit of weigh all of my boobs my 38DD is loose and baggy. As it happens i will need to pop to the shop for a new one (now where here does fitting) as going out tonight and grey white bra will be poking out from top so need to replace so need advice.

I looked on tinter web and they say if odd nmber round up then add 4 inch to your back measurment (35in) which would mean a 40 and whatever cup size which to me is loads bigger non? Or have i got it all wrong?

PS sorry for hi-jack.

ameliagrey · 31/03/2012 10:49

loads of threads here about how to measure- do a search.

mrsebojones · 31/03/2012 14:40

Hmmm... I have the following

1 nude t-shirt type bra
1 black t-shirt type bra
(Lots of pairs of matching pants as these are my daily staples and I don't want to get run over by a bus and be mismatched)
1 navy lace bra
1 nude lace bra
(Again matching knickers and worn when I'm feeling a bit more 'dressy' than above)
1 sports bra
(I'm a runner)
1 strapless / multiway bra
1 racy black lace set
(When I want to give DH the eye Wink)
1 racy leopard print set
(just because I love leopard print)

ragged · 31/03/2012 14:58

As a 24/7 scruffbag 4 should suffice for me, 3 comfy, preferably at least one white & at least one black, + 1 or 2 sport.

ifancyashandy · 31/03/2012 16:23

Oh god. I've just counted....

One white t-shirt
Two lacy white (1 balcony / 1 plunge)
One white multi way
One black t-shirt
Four black lacy (2 balcony / 2 push up)
One black multi way
Two nude t-shirt
One nude multi way
One electric blue
One pale blue
One navy blue
One hot pink
One hot pink & white
One orange
Three cream & black lace
Three sports
One leopard
One purple
One turquoise
One green
One red
One yellow
One grey (supposed to be!)
One floral
One tartan

And they all have 2 pairs of pants!

Liveinthepresent · 31/03/2012 19:52

shandy your first post made me chuckle and think I liked your attitude - now I am just jealous of your and mrsebojones collections!
When I first met DH I used to have a fantastic collection of matching sets and frivolous wisps of lace but 10 years on I have-
2 hideous nursing bras bought by DH when milk came in and was engorged and in agony
2 lovely nursing bras bought since but saggy nonetheless and need to be retired
One Elle McPherson set in black bought recently

Thats is apart from tons of old non fitting stuff that will probably never fit again...

OP posts:
JasperJohns · 31/03/2012 22:05

As a guess, I reckon I have got about 20.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 31/03/2012 22:11

Oh dear. I was about to say 3 and a sports bra and now understand why I have never posted in this area before!! Must try harder!!

TadlowDogIncident · 31/03/2012 22:15

More than I've got! Haven't replenished since I stopped breastfeeding DS. At present I have two very battered and tired pre-pregnancy bras, one pregnancy sports bra which is now too big but better than nothing, and three nursing bras which are the right size back but now utterly ridiculous in the cup. I need to go and get fitted: I have no idea when I'm going to find the time (work full-time, have toddler DS, am in process of moving house).

Karbea · 03/04/2012 14:40

Years ago I found this list in a magazine, I copied it down and it's served me well:

Day:

2 tshirt bras in nude
4 knickers to match
2 interesting sets
Multipack knickers

Evening:

2 multiway bras black, nude.
Knickers to match
2 gorgeous sets

Sport:
1 maximum support bra
1 light/medium support bra
3 micro fibre exercise knickers.
