Help with accessories please

I've got the grey Pepperberry dress, but I am totally useless at accessories. Have mostly worn black in the past, so much of my jewellery is silver and I need something with more colour for this I think.

Would like a lovely necklace and some shoes, but I don't know the first place to start!

HELP PLEASE!

I know what you will think but try topshop- ty really nice stuff and can totally turn this lovely dress into an individual special outfit.
Maybe something in. Chunky mustard coloured wood colour... If that doesnt sound too hideous!

Ooo and then mustard yellow shoes as well- fab!

If you are looking for something not expensive accessory go for Accessories or River Island. I suggest you try gold plated accessories with purple, fuschia, mustard beads. If you are looking for something more durable, pop to Mango.

I used to wear silver accessories all the time, but in this case try and see if you can find something in gold that could make you feel comfortable.

And def go for a necklace! It will drag everyones attention to the deep V neck area.

With accessories also don't forget three items rule and never wear earrings, necklace, bracelet and ring at the same time. It will look over done!

Ooh, thanks for replying. I'd never have though of mustard colours - am a bit scared of yellow.

I do have an aversion to gold too (picky!)

It would be necklace and bracelet I think. Don't wear rings or earrings.

Ooh. What about bags? Will need something I think?

Really like the idea of fuschia. Would teal or an apple green work do you think?

I would say green apple rather than teal. The latter is a very settled colour and won't go well with the grey (which is pretty muted too). Accessories' role here should be to lift your whole look up a bit :)

As for the bag, again look for a colour that would help you to stand out a bit, but in a sophisticated kinda way. Apple green, fuschia, even tanned skin or deep red wine colours would look nice.

If you want to have a unified outfit, go and get the bag first (as you most likely to wear it more than once and add to other outfits) and then choose the rest of accessories in the same shades.

Regarding gold plated jewellery, just go into the shop (bring the dress if you can) and try things on. You may not like golden accessories on their own, but once you'll see it with the outfit, your opinion may change :) trust me!
