festival chic

I am attending music festival where my husband is part of the management team. I am potentially going to be meeting clients and generally being the helpful wife. I feel my normal grungey festival attire is not going to be appropriate. I am 5'4 size 8-10 hourglass figure. What should wear oh stylish ladies?

Fab tea dress that's short and floppy plus sparkly wellies and a nice leather satchel handbag. Plus clean brushed hair to separate you from the crowd and nicd make up and perfume???

Or cool shorts and boho chic tunic layered with vests and funky jewellery, same leather satchel bag and sparkly wellies or dubarry style boots (but cheaper) with pretty over-knee socks. This works for all ages as not too much leg showing. The best over knee socks are from the shooting gear suppliers (breek socks) - I bought some fab turquoise alpaca ones at the CLA game fair last year.
I have some Rydale waterproof leather boots www.rydaleclothing.co.uk/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=7340&idcategory=38
Really comfy-you can wear them all day and hose them down.

Sorry no idea why that link didn't convert.

At the big county shows all the girls wear mini skirts or shorts and boots/socks and Barbour jackets. I think it's a good combo and easy to tweak to festival style rather than county set. I also wore a turquoise feather tutu and bumble bee hair slides with my shorts and boots and Barbour jacket to Big Chill last year and I'm 50. That may be a step too far if you have to meet clients though Grin

Fresh, you sound like a very cool 50yo.

DH and I have got tickets to Rewind (80s music festival) in August, and I'm already stressing about what to wear. Festival chic AND and 80s vibe....aargh!

Thank You guys. I think the dress is probably the way to go as shorts would be my go to festival wear and I guess I want to feel a bit more grownups and wife like. Can I do over the knee socks and a dress? I am hoping for glorious warm weather or they will just have to take me in full waterproof get up. I have a trusty pair of cowboy boots which I will wear and a wax barbour style jacket. So just need a dress then? And socks.
