Home hair dye help

Folks, I am pretty low maintenance, but I do lie ot have cheerful coloured hair

It is naturally dark blonde (was Post-It coloured as a child and has got darker with age) with a few natural highlights. I usually have it highlighted twice a year, but can't afford it at the moment. I used to dye it at home when I was younger and it too well, but my hair is very dry, curly, thick and frizzy and it often went very dry so I went down the pro route once I got a decent job,

Went to look at home hair dyes in Boots to other day and was so overwhelmed with choice I left. Dyes look a lot more professional and a bit hair friendlier than they did 15 years ago Can anyone recommend anything that won't totally wreck dry, frizzy hair?

my hair is dark blonde and i dye it at home. pic on profile, although in reality it's a little darker. the most natural i've found is l'oreal excellence creme in either ash blonde or light ash blonde. they are ash shades so give a cool dark blonde, but i find the warmer home colours fade to strawberry blonde and go to orange looking for me.
