I have an interview at work tomorrow for an internal promotion. It's all come about very quickly (long story) but essentially, applications had to be in by lunchtime today and then we were told this afternoon that interviews are tomorrow afternoon. I am a teacher in a secondary school, btw. I am taking a bunch of Yr 10s on a trip tomorrow morning, to a theatre, where we will be crawling around in workshops, climbing ladders and visiting places where sets are painted. Clearly I won't be wearing an interview suit for that. So my question is - should I go to the interview wearing what I wore for the trip, or should I take clothes to work to change into? The interview is at 2, and I am likely to return to work at about 1.45 from the trip. It will probably come down to a choice of either eating lunch or changing my clothes - there won't be time for both.

So - smart or not? Obviously the people interviewing me will know what I've been doing all morning, but I will be up against people in interview clothes.

Change definitely. It will help you mentally get into "interview mode". Good luck!

Eat a portable lunch on journey back from trip -- or possible in case no time to change - skip some of the messier elements of your trip.

Good luck.

Definitely change - I reckon they'll be expecting you to. (They would at my work!)
