I have just realised my nail polish has gone funny so I will be having nude toes till I can go shopping. Blush

What colour will your stylish toes be this summer? :)

Now this is something I need to know, so bumping and marking my place.

Suggest you don't follow my current 'trend' of chipped raspberry pink...

Northey · 28/03/2012 16:33

Not yellow. Learn the lesson of my "ooh, it's all pretty and spring-like and primrosey in the bottle" nail polish disaster. On the toe it turned out like old man's fungal infection.

alwaysrunninginheels · 28/03/2012 16:33

Mine are bright blue just now!!!! But maybe i am behind the trend. Looks good with denim though!

alwaysrunninginheels · 28/03/2012 16:36

But Chanels "May" might be what i try next......

sedgieloo · 28/03/2012 16:38

Speaking as someone who doesn't like to admit in real life that they have over 150 polishes loves all things nails I think really good 'go to' colours for toes in the summer are bright coral, a tomato (bright clear leaning orange) red and maybe a blue. I know what you are thinking with blue but try it you may be surprised. I have a lot of OPI/China Glaze but really rate barry M for budget on trend colours. Try their 'bright red' 'coral' and 'cobalt blue'. Raspberry colours also great

coral
bright red
cobalt blue
nails inc rasberry the hills collection
I also have a weakness for a pepto bismol pink in summer again this is nails inc The Hills collection

Too trashy, too bold? then go for a vampy dark red, can't go wrong...

HettyKett · 28/03/2012 16:40

Mine are Borjois Bleu Asphalte. 'tis a deep grey, with a hint of purple atm. Very nice.

sedgieloo · 28/03/2012 16:45

ahh hetty sounds much more classy than my suggestions!

AngryFeet · 28/03/2012 16:47

I always go for a bright red during summer. Stains the nails to buggery but since I wear it through to Oct it doesn't really matter :)

StellaAndFries · 28/03/2012 16:48

Mine are pillar box red to match my fingers nails and if I didn't have a bloody great coldsore I'd be wearing matching red lippy.

Labootin · 28/03/2012 16:58

Orangey red at the moment

I dabble with a minty green as well

Catsmamma · 28/03/2012 17:06

I have recently discovered Home Bargains version of minx....79p.....yes seventy NINE peeeeeeeeeeeee

so i have a lovely coppery giraffe print atm! ....they last really really well, no lifting or peeling, i have been in tights and shoes and they have not gone shoddy or shabby at all!!

Generally for the summer I prefer Rouge Noir, or Rainbow toes, red on big toe, through orange, green, blue, and purple on the pinky

or sometimes a french

or sometimes a garish sparkly polish

or bright bright blue

Suddenly realises is a toe polish freak. and fickle.

smartiesrule · 28/03/2012 17:07

Light blue with sparkles.

mrsebojones · 28/03/2012 17:23

Always a nice bright coral in summer Smile

SuePurblybilt · 28/03/2012 17:26

I saw a lovely sky-blue but I think it'd be better with a tan. To avoid the cadaver look.

aftereight · 28/03/2012 17:32

Bright coral/orange, goes with everything I wear. Bourjois Tangerine Fatal.

spamm · 28/03/2012 17:37

Right now, a deep coral with brown/nude tones. Looks nice and subdued.

I think bright corals are nice in spring/summer - I saw a girl getting hers done when I was having my pedi on Sunday and it looked great, but she is 20 years younger than me. I need a little bit of tan first.

But my summer go-to color is Opi Red, if I am having problems choosing.

5babyangels · 28/03/2012 17:43

Usually go fir coral or hot pink, but getting married in 3 wks so was going to go for manicure instead! However massive black bruise on big toe....I don't want to have to have blue or purple wedding toes! What should I do? Blush

spamm · 28/03/2012 18:10

Could you have pedicure at same time? They will help you disguise it. I had a bruise on my toe last summer, but the red I was wearing hid it, I did not need to cover up with black or blue.

Also, wanted to mention - have you tried the "Try on this color" on the Opi website - lots of fun and many lost hours.

KatieScarlett2833 · 28/03/2012 18:13

Coral since 1987, see no need to change now...

monkeysmama · 28/03/2012 18:17

Muted orange Essie Chubby Cheeks at the moment.

I quite like a bit of sparkle and last week I bought a perfumed glittery orange (maybe Revlon?) colour hmm which I put over my orange toe polish. It made it super shiny and mani & pedi lasted an extra week.

GreenEyesAndHam · 28/03/2012 18:18

I'm looking for a creamy navy blue atm

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 28/03/2012 18:18

Hot pink, classic scarlet, or 70s housewife [[http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/260979288155?var=lv

5babyangels · 28/03/2012 18:24

Just love opi! Just wasn't sure it would cover up bruise! May take several layers Wink yes having my first pedicure of the year very soon Grin

MamaGeekChic · 28/03/2012 18:28

summer= chanel orange fizz (coral)
winter= chanel rouge noir

Only other nail polishes I own are chanel ballerina and an OPI beige for days when the have unexpected chips and dont have time to do them properly.

sedgieloo · 28/03/2012 18:34

spamm what you can do is put an opaque nude polish on then the colour you like. I am fairly pale (mac NC 15-20 should that mean anything to you) and nails inc basil street is a good nude choice for me and pretty well opaque in one coat.
