My choices are somewhat limited to Tesco and Matalan(d).

Yes yes, I know. But I am poor. And fat. and a bit of an unstylish hippy.

So, If any of you have ventured into either Tesco or Matalan(d) recently and have seen anything nice to suit a fat, old, poor, hippy type, could you let me know.

Otherwise I will only buy a few black T-shirts and maybe some 3/4 length jeans. Again.

3/4 trousers, rather than jeans. Asda do some cropped linen trousers in various colours and styles for £10

MagsAloof · 28/03/2012 09:14

Also, what size are you? Bigger than a 18? If smaller, don't dismiss H&M for cheap tops.

HugeFurryWishingStool · 28/03/2012 09:17

I recently bought some fairly decent chinos at Matalanddddd. I cannot advise re tesco, however.

Falmer have got a retro style range in matalan which is v. Naice pastelly

IsNowhereSacred · 28/03/2012 09:21

i'm a large 18. doomed to black T-shirts forever.

Noooooo! No you're not, OP. Get to big Tesco and Asda stres, or look online. There is plenty of summery stuff aside from the dreaded black tee Grin

Do you do Primark? They go up to size 22 and I firmly believe in buying cheaply for summer if you are in the UK.

New Look's + 16 range is decent at the moment.

i truly can't be arsed to venture into town centre.

i like black T-shirts.

Am I too late to say why not have a look at Sainsburys? IMO their clothes are infinitely nicer than other supermarket brands, but just as cheap....

mrsebojones · 28/03/2012 11:03

I was also going to say Sainsburys. And the smallish Asda in my town had some better stuff than I have seen in a long while.

No to the black T... think well fitting cotton trousers, well fitting scoop or v neck ts, nice knee length skirt, neutral cardigan, Tan sandals, cotton dress...

Report back!

i got

these

i tried on the jumpsuit version of the same but it was hideous.

i was rather taken with some pale pink or lemon cropped jeans but i'm fairly sure i can't do pastel.

i also bought 2 new black t-shirts (with scoop necks).

will have a look at sainsburys and/or asda when i'm feeling up to it again.
