How do you organise and store your belts and scarves?

Limited cloakroom and storage space here but would love to know how you all organise and store your scarves and belts - mine are falling off hangers or wrapped around hangers under coats so I forget about them
Or they get ripped when dc s enthustically pretend they are 'tails!'

I find hangers with a velvety cover stop things from falling off. Try John Lewis or Ikea for them, even scarves won't slip off them.

I had this useful but ugly thing on my wall- but I'm in rented, and I used one of these to hold it up and and it fell off.... I realised why when I picked it up, weighed a ton! I have too many scarves Grin but the Ikea hanger itself, while ugly, is useful.

My belts are in a drawer (I don't have many), or they stay on the jeans/trousers they predominantly hold up.

My scarves are all over the place, and it drives me mad! Fine/summer weight/dressy ones are in drawers on the upstairs landing, and woolly ones are in a cupboard in the dining room. Pain in the arse. I quite fancy getting a giant chest/hamper for the whole lot. I like the IKEA thingy, but one thing I don't have a lot of is hanging space!

Great thread, I have been trying to be better organised on that front. What I could do with is some sort of rail screwed to the inside of the wardrobe door that I can hand scarves over. This sort of thing!

Scarf and belt hangers from TK Maxx-bought in the clerance section. Boxes from Homebargains

Scarves and belts in clear plastic boxes on top shelf of wardrobe. Summer ones in one box, winter in another and a third box for miscellaneous. Clearly have too many scarves! Blush Belts just tucked in the front corner of the nearest box.

Scarves folded and belts rolled in a drawer with my handbag.

I have a concertina storage thing. Not sure what you call it but is made of material that velcros over the pole in the warbrobe and folds down into 6 shelves. I think was bought in Home bargains.

I've got mine in basket type things on top of a chest of drawers in the wardrobe (built in) - I just roll them up and stuff place them in. They look neat and I can see everything I've got

wheresthecake · 27/03/2012 21:13

I have a towel rail type item which goes on the back of a door. V handy

BellaVita · 27/03/2012 21:16

I have a drawer for such items.

whitelillies · 28/03/2012 22:50

Hmmm ikea it is then not sure it will help with the belts thing though.
