Here. Has Johnnie B lost his marbles? Would anyone pay that for a Boden cardigan?

Flowers?

picnicbasketcase · 26/03/2012 21:00

Anyone who would consider paying that for a cardigan of all things is beyond ridiculous. I don't get Boden at all. What's the appeal? Ugly clothes and stupidly high prices. Is it just for bragging rights or something?

MrsBovary · 26/03/2012 21:46

"Maybe Boden have been taken over by Pedlars?" Smile

Dear me, isn't it hideous. I'd go and buy something nice, classic and cashmere for that price.

IsNowhereSacred · 26/03/2012 21:49

looks like chainmail. decadent chain mail.

rosie17 · 26/03/2012 22:16

I have to go and vomit now.

rookiemater · 26/03/2012 22:20

Bonkers. I have bought very little over the past couple of seasons - the items I did purchase have gone straight back due to lack of consistency in their sizing.

Mint Velvet has some lovely on trend items and with the WHome12 25% discount, less expensive than Boden and a bit less recognisable.

And I speak as someone whose wardrobe up till recently was pretty much exclusively Boden.

nobutyeahbut · 29/03/2012 11:48

Rookiemater how are there sizes compared to Boden, am a 14 in Boden tops. Have just had a look and there are some nice bits and code is valid - thanks!

rookiemater · 29/03/2012 20:34

Hi there - you can also use the code at John Lewises so if you have one nearby you can avoid the p&p buy doing John Lewis click and collect.

I find the sizes pretty true to size I'm a size 14 too and sometimes find Boden to be too large in the top, but the size 12s are too small.

Mint Velvet is perhaps a smidgen smaller, but you should be a size 14 there. I have recently bought this which is gorgeous on www.mintvelvet.co.uk/cream-lace-cardigan/knitwear/mint-v/fcp-product/1757 and this www.mintvelvet.co.uk/stone-sateen-jacket/jackets/mint-v/fcp-product/1676 which is surprisingly flattering even though I'm well endowed. What are you looking at?

LimeLeafLizard · 29/03/2012 20:41

Amazing that someone is stupid enough to pay that much for a cardigan.

I wouldn't wear it myself, but it is ok. My Nan might buy it for a tenner.

Freshlettice · 29/03/2012 22:19

Have a look at this:
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/profiles/9164515/Johnnie-Boden-feels-the-squeeze.html
Looks like MN is giving ole Johhny the squeeze.
Their prices are getting very, very silly these days.

nobutyeahbut · 29/03/2012 22:55

Thanks rookiemater i like this and this, i love navy, i am rather taken with this too.

Might have to wait until the end of the month though!

BrightnessFalls · 29/03/2012 22:59

I havent bought anything from them for at least a year. The quality has been going steadily down hill.

fromheretomaternity · 29/03/2012 23:03

This one is a snip at £275

Looks like it has lots of eyes from DS's cuddly owls stuck onto it
