Outfit help for Friday night....

FabMum1 · 26/03/2012 14:06

Right, Friday night I'm going out (haven't been out for a long time) with some friends for a meal then onto a pub. I have no idea what to wear.
Is it jeans and top, leggings, dress, arrrgh! don't know where to begin.

Any suggestions of what to buy and from where?

ok I will try to help- what sort of restaurant? swanky or cosy?
what sort of pub? trendy or traditional?
what budget do you have and what would you actually like to spend if poss. also what size are you, what height and colouring and what kind of clothes are you comfortable with? where do you like to shop?
If you haven't been out for some time then what about a dress, thick tights and some heels?

FabMum1 · 26/03/2012 20:19

It's an Indian with a lot of ladies, followed by a trendy bar.
Im 5ft 8, a size 8 with brown hair. I'm most comfy in jeans (argh wish wasn't) with comfy trainers. Wanted to maybe leave my comfort zone.
I normally shop in Dotty Ps, Gap, H&M
Thank u soooo much

would you wear something like this if the weather is still warm?
if you are a tall size 8 am fairly sure you will look fab in this kind of length. If weather turns colder go for a warmer dress (similar style) but with tights and shoes.

I love that dress, but don't think I'm brave enough to wear it. Don't like my legs that much, but it is or gorgeous. What footwear?

Not sure, am not v good at this and usually come here to ask for help! I keep hoping someone else will come along with some better ideas! Possibly the sandals the model is wearing £30, or the Zara basic platform sandal (about £35) which has the strap set lower on the foot, I always find ankle straps make my legs look shorter.
If you want to hide your legs then what about this with black opaques and little black ankle boots or black patent heels?
Have a browse through the dresses on the Zara site as I saw lots that may be suitable and think they aim clothes at taller women.

these sandals were the ones I mean for going with the the yellow print dress. With large clutch bag.

IMO you can't go wrong with well fitted jeans, a blouse, a blazer and a pair of killer heals and jewellery. It's my fail safe outfit!

FabMum1 · 26/03/2012 21:36

Sweetheart where would you recommend from?
All my jeans are too baggy, would you go skinny or wide leg?
What type of blouse?

Zara do nice blazers and I tend to wear Gap long & lean jeans in a dark rinse for a night out. But you could get some coloured skinnies and wear like this

A blouse like this would look nice.
If you can wear high high heels make sure the jeans are long enough to make your legs look super long.

this look is pretty chic for a girls night out - I'd add a long necklace to this outfit and maybe some other jewellery.
