highlights and home-dyes

I have highlighted hair. Last done 6 months ago. It's usually hilift tint (although about a year ago my highlights may have had bleach).

Which home product from eg boots can I use? Is there anything I need to avoid? I don't want it to go green or anything odd?

All I know is don't use anything containing ash or it will turn the highlights green, I think you need something with warmth but hopefully some experts will be along to help

afaik
high lift tint still has bleach in it...it's just something they tell you to make you feel better about bleaching your hair
highlighting all has to do with how much you have to lift the natural base colour to get to the desired shade
during the lightening process the hair goes through a number of colour changes one on which is red and often you will need to get a strong enough % of bleach and developer to achieve that removal
then usually a toner and developer is mixed and put over the now lightened hair to get the desired shade and make it all look non brassy green etc

that is why unless its within a shade or two of your base colour it's much better to go to the hairdressers
