Getting back into heels after a looooong break

Wondering if anyone has tips advice for getting back into wearing heels for a night/ day out after you've had a long break?

Pre DD i could wear my heels (not sky scrapers but decent) for an evening out or during the day if I was up and down at my desk, sitting down from time to time etc. However now I feel like I've become a bit of a wimp with it and actually wore flats to a girls day out yesterday. I want to wear heels again but not really sure where to start.

They tend to hurt under the balls of my feet rather than rubbing anywhere so the shoes fit ok. I guess that still carrying some of the "baby weight" doesn't help either. Is there hope for me? I didn't feel quite pulled together yesterday.

love your name, my name is short for lizard .
Start with low wedge? i love my Fly London boots which are super comfy and I've just done a sightseeing trip and walked miles in them. Then progress to high wedge. Then more spindly heels?
You can get those spongey stick on things for balls of feet too (Scholl??)

Pirmark do things called foot consolers that you slip on to help the foot ball
