Smell um ?

notapizzaeater · 24/03/2012 19:54

I bought a bag on holiday once and to prove it was leather the salesman lit a match under it

NoGoodAtHousework · 24/03/2012 19:55

Baby wipes or leather cleaner. Doesn't matter if they're not real leather. Just try an inconspicuous patch first!

TheCinnamonGiraffe · 24/03/2012 19:56

Tab a bit of water onto the seat and rub it. Water will soak into leather but not into plastic/man made fabric.

SparkyMcSparrow · 24/03/2012 19:56

But of its not leather, surely it would melt notapizza then she wouldn't be able to sell them. Confused

ggirl · 24/03/2012 19:57

oh ok will try the water

think princess and pea

get the poshest person you can kidnap find and sit them on one of your chairs
if they melt/burst into flame/shoot through the ceiling/drop down stone cold dead, then the chairs are plastic. and also you will need an alibi.

ggirl · 24/03/2012 20:04

arf
tbh I don't think I would have bought plastic ones cos I'm a bit of a snot about things like that but as I can't remember ...you never know

well the water just sat there so shall I get a match ..what happens do they blow up they're placky
they are cream and grubby

They lit it at the bottom where it wouldnt be seen

ggirl · 24/03/2012 20:16

hmm don't think there is anywhere on the chair that is hidden to test by burning

TheCinnamonGiraffe · 24/03/2012 20:17

Ah, I guess plastic will melt...not sure what leather would do, just go black?

notapizzaeater · 24/03/2012 20:19

Is there not a tiny corner underneath - they only flashed past it with the match - not enough to burn it ...
