Trousers for the summer - are linen ones ever ok?

I tried some on yesterday and they looked ok. I'm 5ft 10, size 12 so not at all overweight, but they made my bum look quite wobbly in the changing room mirror, much more than it normally does Confused. I've had linen clothes before and they always go baggy and crumpley. I didn't buy them, anyway.

But what trousers can you wear in the summer that look ok and are cool (temp wise)? Cropped jeans are too thick & hot - so what is the alternative? Or should I just go with the linen and not worry about the baggyness and wobblyness of my bum? Grin

PS they weren't white Smile. They were a chocolate brown colour - but why the sudden wobblyness? My bum doesn't usually wobble that much...

decent thickish ones are better
but MN always slates linen trews
wear what ya like I say just make sure we can't see your thong through them

I got nice ones from H&M - think maybe they were linen blend. A dark mushroomy colour. Think my bum was ok - though will have to check!

I love linen trousers, but have to replace every few weeks. Was trying to think of viable alternatives earlier as it happens. What do people in hot countries wear?

For linen trousers, always get some that have a little silk in. M&S usualy do a nice one. The silk helps them keep the shape and less knee bagging!

I don't like linen tbh as after a few minutes, it looks as if you've slept in the clothes overnight .

Thanks for replies Smile.

And how spooky is this? Went to local charity shop this morning with DC as he likes to have a look at the video games there. Had a browse through the clothes (which are usually not good) and found two perfect pairs of summer trousers in my size! One was a pair of Next cropped jeans, in a really thin cotton denim - and the other was a pair of M&S black 3/4 trousers, in a linen/silk mix! Got both for £6 Smile
