What goes with turquoise?

I'm going to a wedding next month and have a turquoise silk wrap dress to wear. I originally bought last year but the event was called off before I thought about accessorising it so have nothing to go with it yet. I particularly need something to go over it as it is sleeveless (going to assume April will not be the weather for bare arms), and a coordinating pair of shoes.

I can only think of black to go with it, but as it is a relaxed wedding in a barn not sure it's a look I want to go for. Is their any other colours that might work with it? I'm not great at this sort of thing, so could really do with some help! TIA

white, taupe, navy are classy complimentary colours.

spikemomma · 24/03/2012 18:11

Red looks bold and funky with it

WinkyWinkola · 24/03/2012 18:11

Milk chocolate?

fluffiphlox · 24/03/2012 18:20

Grey?

mamijacacalys · 24/03/2012 18:54

Pale gold?

MadAboutHotChoc · 24/03/2012 18:58

grey - pale or charcoal, navy, chocolate & stone all go with turquoise far better than black

mumblechum1 · 24/03/2012 19:00

coral

mamijacacalys · 24/03/2012 19:01

this sort of colour not necessarily that particular shoe.

Coral and turquoise are wonderful

IHeartKingThistle · 24/03/2012 19:04

together, I mean!

doradoo · 24/03/2012 19:05

I have a beautiful green and turquoise scarf - not what you'd expect together but they work really well.

I'd steer clear of black. How about something metallic - silvery/pewter type thing for shoes/bag?

Brown. As a kid, I was mightily impressed by that combination of colours worn by the heroine in the film of The 39 Steps.

BigBirdsFriend · 24/03/2012 19:09

If you like bold mixes then have look around for a lime/new leaf green shade, if not a smokey grey would be lovely

MadAboutHotChoc · 24/03/2012 19:10

deep pink, purple & orange are lovely contrast colours

badtasteflump · 24/03/2012 19:16

Are clashing colours still in?

I would go cerise pink.

countless · 24/03/2012 19:22

yellow or greys

ForwardOcho · 24/03/2012 20:54

Just make sure that the colour is yellow based - turquoise has more yellow than blue in it - and the same weight i.e. the same colour saturation, for a great contrast. Coral has already been mentioned, yellows could be corn gold, choc brown, already mentioned, as has leaf green. Terracotta, grey, honey. Violet. Try a tiny bit of a third colour to make the outfit sing.

Brown and orange

lemonbonbons · 24/03/2012 21:12

pink white or silver

openerofjars · 24/03/2012 21:17

Leopard print, depending on the dress, of course. It's apparently now a neutral.

EnjoyResponsibly · 24/03/2012 23:24

Sorry posted the wrap twice
