Ok. Firstly, this wedding has taken me 2 years to save up for so now im really excited, it is a mere 6 weeks away. However, I have not got a clue what to wear. Any weddings ive been to have been in Scotland. I dont even know where to start.

Im on a pretty tight budget, so the cheaper the better. Im 5 foot 6 usually a size 14.

TIA.

Are you the bride or a guest?

girlylala0807 · 23/03/2012 21:28

Im the guest. Sorry, should have made that clear.

Sorry no specific ideas for dresses but you'll probably want to go for something as lightweight as possible. It gets very humid (& obv hot) so you'll need to take that into account. Any idea where the weddings taking place to see how formal you'd need to be.

Envy btw! Grin

Something floaty and light, that would look good without shoes incase you end up with photos on the beach!

girlylala0807 · 23/03/2012 21:33

The wedding is going to be on the beach. Shoes are a must as well or my friends mother in law to be will have a nervous breakdown!

What about these sorts of things? Very caribbean. There are plenty bright colours out at the moment which are equally caribbean so you should be able to find something lovely.

Not a maxi dress unless it has a high% of cotton and lets the air through or you will end up very sweaty as they act like a sauna ...... However if you find the right one something like that could be suitable

4forkssake · 23/03/2012 21:35

If you're on the beach & need shoes, you need flats so maybe a maxi type dress will look good with flats. Or have a pair of sandals in your bag for on the beach & heels to change in to.

4forkssake,

Thank you for those, some of them are beautiful, sadly a bit out of my budget.

I like the Ted Baker maxis.

Dorothy P dress has too much man made fabric (for me anyway - I'd be a sweaty mess).

ajandjjmum · 23/03/2012 21:39

DD got a beautiful Ted Baker maxi dress from the Bicester Village outlet shop for less than £100.

girlylala0807 · 23/03/2012 21:39

I do need to remember about the fabric, I will also end up a sweaty mess, being that im Scottish and not used to the heat.

Oh I love those dresses, especially the middle the ivory one with black dots.

Me again! Must get off to bed Smile

Have you looked at oasis website? Some nice dresses on there & they give material details which some sites don't.

girlylala0807 · 23/03/2012 21:51

I like this one. Im not sure if it is formal enough for a wedding though.
