Spring/summer footwear ideas please!

I'm talking day wear/practical out and about footwear, not party gear. What do you wear when the weather gets nicer??

Not too trendy, not too frumpy is the general idea.

My feet always need a bit of love and care around this time of year but once they've been tarted up I'll be wearing...

for general day to day wear I am in my converse or little flat shoes.

When it gets HOT I will get in my sandals/espadrilles/flipflops.

Those Next sandal are really pretty but I wouldn't think - or similar - they'd stand a lot of hard wear on city pavements, so I guess it depends how much walking you're planning on doing.

Oh dear, it seems that my idea of practical is not the same as others!! I am looking for something I can wear all day/walk quite along way in without killing my feet/ankles etc. I have my trusty converse as well, which are brilliant, it is the slightly more summery option that I get a bit stuck on.

I have several pairs of mule/low wedge sandals but they are so prone to rolling over on my ankles that they just aren't any good for all day....

You want fitflops by the sound. But they are Fugly.

Are you looking for pump/flat style shoes?

I clicked on the thread as I also need inspiration and its sounds as if we're looking for the same sort of thing. I don't want sandals just yet.

I love my havianas for walking in in summer but I wear flip flops May to September and find them really comfortable, I know they are not exactly supportive though.
