Ideally it needs to have lots of glitz and glamour. Finally got my figure back to a size 6-8, 5'2" with long dark hair, pale skin and blue eyes. Eternally grateful! :o x

Budget?

juicytwoshoes81 · 21/03/2012 22:31

Sorry forgot to mention..it is for a black tie do. I'm 31 and budget up to £500-£600 - it's a special one! Ideally long. :o

anon80 lovely dress, might need to bag that one for a very rare night out with the girls Wink

french connection have some really nice glam dresses at the moment, and if i was slim enough and had a glitzy event to go to, i'd look at this....

glam

not long, but both glam and funky.

If you're feeling super confident

My favourite evening dress was £7 from Oxfam, it's a long stretchy glimmery green velvet concoction, so maybe have a run around your local charity shops and spend the extra £££s on hair, make up and some fab shoes?

tethersend · 22/03/2012 13:57

That's lovely, worldgonecrazy.

Wow, thanks ladies. Loving those!

Don't forget to allow for alterations in your budget. At 5'2" you're probably going to need the dress shortened professionally so get a couple of quotes.

I've just had a quick look on ebay, there are lots of long show-stopper gowns for less than £100.

Personally I'm a huge fan of a simple style dress in a non-black colour, then the full monty with hair, jewellery and professional make up for any big events. The dress should take second place to your own beauty.
