Offer 3 for a tenner, so i though i'd treat myself and being a pretty much skint all the time person it was money that WAS a real treat.

So much to choose from but i thought 'hey he's pretty good isn't he'

it's supposed to be moisturizing shampoo, well my hair felt like rats tails, and a twice a week conditioning treatment. May as well have put my Herbal essences on.

my hair is quite dry, and dyed. The other prod was hair protector. made no difference. Wish i'd kept the receipt now. Angry

I agree, the shampoo and conditioner is shit!

MagdaMagyarMadam · 21/03/2012 12:13

One of the best hairdressers I have ever had told me never, ever, ever buy any products bearing the name of hairdressers or celebrities. She told me to stick to the main brands you see in hairdressers e.g. loreal, clairol, kerastase etc. I have found this to be sound advice. Smile Sadly we are now 300 miles apart [sob]

MagdaMagyarMadam · 21/03/2012 12:14

sorry, I should have been clearer - the brand names, not the actual stuff only sold in salons.

MrFluffy · 21/03/2012 12:23

The only product with a hairdresser's name on it that I've ever found to be any good is the Charles Worthington conditioner.

Everything and I mean everything else has been disappointing. But thanks for the heads-up, if I'm ever tempted by special offers I will resist!

BrianButterfield · 21/03/2012 12:29

I got some of this shampoo and conditioner - it's on offer in Superdrug (sure it's £1.69) in store and I really like it.

Pinot · 21/03/2012 14:39

I like the Trevor Sorbie range. Good old Trev, he's never let me down.

ENormaSnob · 21/03/2012 14:47

Oh god I used to be obsessed with Charles worthington hair stuff.

Now I prefer herbal essences, the purple tousled one.

piratecat · 21/03/2012 17:20

thanks for the advice about the V05!

moomin, i am sorry iyswim that you have also purchased this crap.

yes the blue coconut Herbal Essences is great, of which i also have in the bathroom originally!

polyhymnia · 21/03/2012 18:56

Agree all/ most 'celeb' hairdressers' products useless. Most have just 'sold' their names anyway.
Best to stick to Kerastase IMO.

40notTrendy · 21/03/2012 19:04

Herbal essences does odd things to my hair, as does Phil Smith stuff. Aussie stuff a fail safe. Liz Earle and Aveda do lovely shampoo.

otchayaniye · 21/03/2012 19:55

i quite like the serum but only as its silicone free but to be honest i use curl creme or coco lite stuff

otchayaniye · 21/03/2012 19:55

the man himself comes across as a colossal xxxx

piratecat · 21/03/2012 20:00

i checked the back of the product, there's no hotline just an address in London, Curlytop, which i could write to if i can find the time.

AlistairSim · 21/03/2012 20:07

I'm a total sucker for shampoos etc that promise be beeyootiful hair. I am always disapointed.

I tend to go back to Herbal Essences with my rat tails between my legs.

I also like the purple 'tousled' one.
I have even had compliments. Shock

bigpants103 · 21/03/2012 20:09

Yeah i bought some on the Boots offer and found it pretty naff too.

piratecat · 22/03/2012 12:21

result! went into tiny local Boots, and they suggested ring customer services.

were really helpful (as i explained even if i had the receipt, it's a 40 mile round trip to the big Boots where i got the prods) and they gave me 12 quids worth of avantage points. nice one Boots.

lady also thanked me for telling her, now she wont buy any, and they pass on comments back to their team too.!

BrianButterfield · 22/03/2012 18:52

Good result! I find the staff in tiny Boots' really helpful, actually.

nursenic · 22/03/2012 18:54

James Brown made some vile racist comments about a Black actor a few months ago. Probably a good idea to not pour money intro his coffers, the racist tool.

piratecat · 22/03/2012 19:46

did he! i am glad then that i left such scathing negative comments of his products on the Boots site then!
