*sounds klaxon* 30% GA peel shizzle that you can do at home

SeasonOfTheWitch · 20/03/2012 08:40

thought i ought to do a public service and announce it properly as hardly anyone seems to know you can buy this stuff to use at home - and it works out sooo much cheaper than having it done at a salon even tho it's the exact same stuff.

i've only used it once so far (for 3 mins) but have been properly amazed by the results - as i posted on another thread, my 11s have reduced by 50% [holy grail] and my skin generally looks brighter and more even.

you do it weekly, building up the time over 6 weeks and then have a break.

the magic goo is here: www.bravuralondon.com/glycolic-acid-30.html

don't forget to get the neutraliser (apparently just bicarb but maybe has crushed fairies' castles in it too Hmm so your choice) and use sun block in the day.

anyone a veteran of the stuff and care to share your results?

p.s. i don't work for bravura and i'm a MN regular recently name-changed to separate my S&B chat with my over-sharing on other threads.

Someone tell me that it would be a bad idea to do another SA application 2 days after the last one and now just after I got out of the shower!!

It suddenly seemed like a very good crazy idea as my pores would be as open as the ever are so it would burn hurt make my face burn off work.

I just want results!!! Sad

cybbo · 15/04/2012 20:22

Season each one has hurt like hell while I[m goig it then calmed down straight away

it's a price i'm prepared to pay!

I'm also insisting on taking my make up off straight away before hand to get the maximum sting possible. I never learn, me

MissFoodie · 15/04/2012 20:37

is it ok to use the GA night cream at the same time as the weekly peel then?
and what about the GA night cream at the same time as the SA peel?
I'm wondering whether I can use my liquid gold at night now, as have been doing the SA peels?

AmazingDisgrace · 15/04/2012 22:20

MissFoodie : I'm using the SA peel with the GA night cream, its fine as long as you don't use it straight after. I find it pills a little. Next evening is fine though.

I asked Bravura about using either GA or SA on crows feet and this was their reply:The acid can be used at the side of the eyes on crows feet but not on the delicate skin directly underneath the eye.

Soooo I braved it. I'm using the 10% SA and on 4 mins now. carefully applied it on the crows feet and everywhere else natch. There is a definite reduction in the lines that were starting to reach my cheekbones!

In general I'm finding that the SA is really clearing my blocked pores now. the first time it just seemed to soften my skin and tighten the pores up a bit but This was my third time and after having no reaction I skipped from 2 mins up to 4. I can really really see a difference this time

NotMostPeople · 15/04/2012 22:27

10% SA with Lactic, Peel 3 (peel one was GA though).

I did three minutes last time with little stinging but also little effect so I thought I'd brave it for a bit longer. Have done five minutes this evening, no more stingy so will wait and see what happens next.

Whitershadeofpale · 15/04/2012 22:30

Missfoodie I'm using the GA cream and liquid gold. I usually leave my skin bare apart from HA serum and oil the day I peel then GA cream the night after and liquid gold on the third night.

MissFoodie · 16/04/2012 00:21

thx might use liquid gold a couple of times in between peels - today had quite a bit of redness (after peel no. 4 last night) but seems better tonight, have just cleansed and used clarisonic, then put on face oil.

MissFoodie · 16/04/2012 00:22

notmost where did you get SA + lactic? it's not on the bravura site?

WeesaD · 16/04/2012 06:59

Hi, what is liquid gold please?

Also, has anyone found a really good high SPF that you can wear under makeup? All the high SPFs I've found seems to be white and not good under makeup...

deliciousdevilwoman · 16/04/2012 08:21

My GA 30% and neutraliser was redelivered on Saturday morn. Did a patch test immediately, but couldn't wait the full 48hrs so did my first 3 minute peel last night. My face looks brighter and a bit more plumped this morning.

Has anyone used it on their hands? Length of time/did you get good, noticeable results?

TIA

MissFoodie · 16/04/2012 14:14

weesa it's what we were all using before the peel Grin
it's a liquid toner like thing which is about 5% GA, you put on face at night with nothing else, every other night, and it kind of makes skin soft/brighter, made by Alpha H, called Liquid Gold, I got mine on ebay as only wanted a small bottle but you can get it online from various retailers and on QVC

SPF I use John Masters Organics SPF 30 which I mix with my day cream (currently Antipodes Rejoice)

cocolepew · 16/04/2012 19:07

3rd 10% SA- 4 mins (or thereabouts. I got distracted)

First one that has stung, I had been in the bath and just taken my make up off, but I usually do it straight after Blush

Had to slather Diprobase on and I've stopped burning now. Skin feels soft, but that could be the Dirobase Grin

I'm not very good at this.

When you use the GA can you use your ordinary moisturiser afterwards?

NotMostPeople · 16/04/2012 19:25

Miss Foodie, SA with Lactic was from Forever Young on ebay there's a link somewhere in this thread when we first moved away from just GA.

I've just my liquid gold in between just not too close to Peel time.

I have a lovely soft nose today, can't say I see much difference otherwise.

blobtobetter · 16/04/2012 19:31

Do you think that SA or OCM is more likely to have caused huge plague like boils to appear on my chin?!

lubeybooby · 16/04/2012 19:31

2nd GA 30% peel just done this second

Sting sting sizzzzzzzzzle oooyaaahbastid and than ahhhhhhh

cocolepew · 16/04/2012 19:33

I think my nose might fall off ...

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 16/04/2012 19:37

I have got two spots - one on my chin and one on my cheek.

I never get spots. How annoying.

Apart from that though very smooth faced, almost freakily so. When I put my sunscreen on in the morning I look like a waxwork. Odd.

I might do another one tonight, just to melt the spots away.

kateecass · 16/04/2012 20:54

I got the 15% mandelic salicylic combo. (Followed the forever young guidelines on ebay which said for combo skin with blemish marks) Used it first time for 1 min last night and already skin looking loads better. 11s looking better today. DH looked horrified at my red face and it did sting when I neutralised but haven't got any peely skin or anything.

I'm not that ruthless at cleaning my face so maybe I just had a layer of crud on top!!

Instructions say to leave a week between not sure I can wait that long though!

ggirltwin2pinot · 16/04/2012 21:01
