. Only now started to feel human again, scoffing a toasted bagel with jam. We are talking feeling and looking as bad as the morning after last years MU Blush

I hope I havent blown the school gate comment into something more than it was. Its normally lovely and friendly and very welcoming which helped me a lot when DS1 started school and I didnt really know anyone, let alone being one of the few non-natives and the Mum who made is is usually very nice. Honest!

Loved your half term summary Bloss You can never have too much positive outlook imo . Can you tell I loved Pollyanna as a girl?
Reine we had my naughty little sister books when we were young. We even had a tape version in the car for holidays read by Felicity Kendal. Glad you got a good Primark haul too.

Ankle length jean owners - can you describe the optimim length please (ie where on your leg do they hit) ? Need to get my coloured skinnies taken up and worry about getting the length wrong and straying into 3/4 length territory.

Russianred · 30/03/2012 14:28

Ah thanks Bloss - you should just get some bright blue 811s and be done with it - is one of your colours, right? You'd look great in them and they would work with most of the colours you wear on top. They make getting dressed wonderful. You are no way near too old for anything!

AmberNectarine · 30/03/2012 14:56

yep, second that bloss, I have the cobalt 811s too, and we're similar colouring I think.

Oh Annie, sorry you are having a bad day.

Red, yes, I often want to give Alicia a slap. I do like her work wardrobe. I won't trust myself going to a hen party the night before a long haul flight as I would be too tempted not to stop at two glasses of wine!

Bloss, we are of an age and I wear cobalt 811s, give them a go!

Slay, my saving for the bag is not going very well. I blame Nicole Farhi. I just dumped two bags of clothes, labels like Ghost, Current Elliot etc at the charity shop as couldn't be bothered to ebay. I am sure they wouldn't sell well. Luckily, I do have an anniversary coming up and it is bonus time soon for DH. I will have to drop a few hints. Though it hasn't been a good year for his company.

Decameron · 30/03/2012 15:42

Hope you are feeling better, Ollie. Sounds like a good night.

I have been meeting up more with the mums at school and they are a nice bunch really. Everyone is worried whether their child will get a place in reception in the school, it is very popular.

MarshaBrady · 30/03/2012 16:05

Oh Annie big hug. Hope you are ok. Let me know if I can do anything (help let off steam).

Bloss you are a good inspiration. I find the good diet side easy but am getting the exercise kick from here.

Dh and I survived the party, was good. Sunshine helped.

Decameron · 30/03/2012 16:17

Glad the party went well, Marsha.
OK better pack, feed and wash dirty children etc.

AmberNectarine · 30/03/2012 16:41

Sorry to hear you're having a crappy day annie, don't beat yourself up. Just focus on the fact that you'll soon be spending the weekend with your beautiful girls. You work so hard and you can't please everyone all the time. Trite but true.

Slaymill · 30/03/2012 18:11

DH cooking Thai, Wine open Happy Night :).

I understand about your weight bloss other ppl especially family always have an opinion.I mentioned I felt overweight and heard the reply " What have you put on 2 pounds!.

Hope you have a more relaxing weekend annie Wine

The lure of Nicole Decameron though if you get a sale bargain you might get both ? and lucky charity shop I have a two full charity sacks to go. Though I`m selling the BNWT on ebay compromise.

Glad your feeling better ollie

Pleased party when well Marsha hope everyone has great weekends

Portia4 · 30/03/2012 18:23

Evening all, thank goodness its Friday!

DD3 got Gap delivery today with Dvf romper, a jump suit and a top all picked online by herself! She appears to have inherited her mothers shopping genes!

Ollie hope that you are feeling better and have a great weekend with your Dsis.

Annie hope that your day got better.

Slay that sounds like a nice evening.

Decam enjoy your trip home.

blossoming · 30/03/2012 18:25

Thanks marsha, hope you can relax now with plenty of Wine.
decam you're younger, but thanks! I will look out for some. Are you off this weekend? Have a lovely time, we'll miss you.
Like you and slay I have lots of clothes to get rid of. Do I put it on ebay? Tempted not to, but I may get so stir crazy the second week of the holidays, I may be tempted.
So sorry to hear about your day annie. Hope things improve over the weekend for you.
How's ollie by now? 2am on a school night, that's impressive! The staff are doing their end of term pub crawl tonight, which I didn't know about, so after lots of cajoling I assured them I'd make the summer one. Better warn DH now. They go round the local villages in a bus. Sounds like carnage. Still, I'll be there more next year, and I'd like to bond a little more. They are a nice crowd.
And finally, DS made it out of level 4 swimming, so I get to go on another night next term. Yeuch, ate too many of DD's quavers tonight. I really hate the swimming night, can't you tell!
Still wine later and DH home. Biking tomorrow. We've got the bike carrier sorted so no more squashing eveyone and everything in the back of the mumsmobile.

MidnightinMoscow · 30/03/2012 19:02

Hello All.

Feel like I have missed loads on the thread - have been reading it at 1am, 2am, 3am etc...(you get the picture) but not sure how much actually is going in! Anyhow a big hello to everyone and hope you have all enjoyed this lovely, sunny weather.

Red thank you so, so much for the card and book for DS, such a lovely present. We are going to start reading the book this weekend. Funnily enough, since DD has come home he has been choosing to read a book about babies, which he was totally disinterested in previously. He has been mega clingy to DH though and very tearful. Poor thing.

Everything so sorry to hear you have been ill, and voiceless, how awful. Thank you so much for the offer of help re feeding. Smile

Annie what a rotten sounding day. Have had a few myself, where you could kick yourself at times. Hope you have a better weekend with the DD's.

Bloss you sound so happy, good for you. When are you off on your travels?

Blue hope you are doing ok. We stayed at St Davids last Easter, had a wonderful time. Was great to chill out in the spa before heading out for dinner. Also agree with Bloss about the food at the Park Plaza - is very good. We got a fantastic deal for St Davids on Late Rooms.Com by the way.

DH, DD and I had a wander around the shops earlier, with DH buying his new SS wardrobe in one fail swoop. As much as I admire this, I do prefer the little and often approach to buying clothes!

Think I am going to go with the Oasis colbalt jeans, HoF had 20% today, but I could not bring myself to buy anything just yet. Weigh-in today gives me just over a stone to lose. Seem to have lost my sweet tooth though, and craving lots of fruit and salad at the moment. I doubt it'll last.

Thank you all for the advice and support re feeding. I am still expressing, as I still have some healing to do, and have dressings in place..(yes, that's what a 9lb 12oz baby can do Grin). I am just taking it a day at a time at the moment which suits me fine. Midwife has also given my details to the birth debriefing service which she thinks will be valuable for me.

Right - off to get DS to bed, and then wallow in the bath for a bit.

Bye for now!

Russianred · 30/03/2012 19:38

Glad it arrived MiM and good to hear from you. Poor DS indeed - he'll get there in time, bless him. DS was much the same. The Oasis cobalts are lovely; I had them before going on to my 811s (had to, had an incident with some bleach).

I had a last minute dash to the shops today as I felt a deep yearning for some new sandals and a casual bag. No joy on the bag front but excellent Sam Edelman a-likes in Warehouse which were £15 with the Grazia discount. Aces.

What was the quality of the DVF like Portia? Did all look v nice.

Decam I particularly like her high wrap over tops. Excellent work wardrobe and also love Diane's style. Am also finding myself attracted to Cary, strangely.

Am not going to the hen do now - the friend who I was going with has got a poorly baby so had pulled out, which gave me a good excuse. Massive sense of relief as I realised how much I had to do.

Russianred · 30/03/2012 19:39

Sandals here.

Russianred · 30/03/2012 19:41

Also, lovely leopard belt for anyone keen on the Whistles one - looked to be v good quality.

Decameron · 30/03/2012 20:40

Good to hear from you, MiM.

Nice sandals, Red. Cary is the double of my little brother!

Hope your day got better, Annie.

Yes, going tomorrow morning, taxi booked and I have just had to take half of my clothes out so I can fit in all the cute outfits I want for the girls. I'm only taking one bag and one jacket. Shock DH is joining us next weekend so I can only manage one suitcase.

Happy Easter and happy holidays to all travelling!

Decameron · 30/03/2012 20:52

Slay, yeah, new with tags definitely worth selling. Five year old Ghost dresses, not so much! Have a lovely evening, must be great having your DH home.

OllieinOrange · 30/03/2012 20:55

MIM how lovely to hear from you. The birth debriefing thing sounds an excellent idea, a friend of mine could have really used something like that after her emergency section.

Back from the Fashion Show. Never let it be said a hangover will get in the way of fashion! Some lovely things but I settled for a simple fine almost linen-like grey (predictable) cardigan which has tiny cream buttons with little stars on them. Looked nice with a simple white vest and hopefully with my white dress from last year.

Ipad battery about to go so bye for now

Ollie thanks a mil for party ideas, will do them all, plus bunny face painting Smile

Annie you are allowed a bad day, don't be hard on yourself

Red have a fab holiday, and decameron have a great trip home. Let me know if you're around town, we could try out the new playground in Stephens Green. Weather not great after a lovely week, so bring layers!

Bloss you can never have too much positive thinking, it's very infectious I find. In fact I have been talking a lot to ds about it recently, he tends to be a bit of a negative thinker, maybe I'll read him Jillian's book!

Everything hope you voice is on the mend. I LOVE Oasis cherry jeans , they are my best fitting ones ever, particularly the dark wash pair I got recently, the denim is great quality.

I found some lovely things here. I was thoroughly fed up yesterday so did the classic pick-me-up and bought a new lipstick, seems to have done the trick.

MiM sounds like you're doing great Thanks

Better go to bed, need to bake a gazillion cakes tomorrow. Hope everyone has lovely weekends!

VerityBrulee · 30/03/2012 23:14

Nearly forgot, Fenwick now online, some lovely things I haven't seen elsewhere.

Fleecy · 30/03/2012 23:25

Funnily enough fle I ordered some Oasis cherry jeans following ny's recommendation and they are a great shape for me. But I ordered a 12 and think I need a 10 so am going to exchange and hope they're not too small! Like them very much though. Tempted to replace my green Zara ones from last year with those green ones you've ordered.

Was thinking about you today mim and wondering how you were getting on.

dec I think I would like your little brother Grin

fle was looking at the school thread - is that where you went? I know you said you enjoyed boarding. Were there many people who didn't or did people tend to settle in quite quickly? What sort of things did you do at weekends?

bloss you'd look great in cobalt skinnies

pickledsiblings · 31/03/2012 00:36

Annie, I feel Sad for you - you are so dedicated to your girls, your DH and your work. It is rubbish when you have to make decisions that will invariably annoy someone. Hope you've had a relaxing evening Smile.

Marsha, glad the party went well and Verity, good luck with yours.
