Need a new bronzer - Guerlain or what do you use?

I need a new bronzer. I have tried Nars (a bit shimmery), Clinique (OK), Benefit (quite like Hoola?), but I keep reading recommendations on Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powder - has anyone tried it and if so how good is it? Or what bronzer do you swear by please?

I am using Bobbi Brown. No glitter, nice healthy glow.

warmandwooly · 19/03/2012 09:47

I quite like the Guerlaine one. The thing with this bronzer is that you can choose which one you want depending upon your skintone either/or hair clour. I am quite pale and got the blones one I think.
I say go to a counter and get them to apply it and try if out first.

Bonsoir · 19/03/2012 10:14

Guerlain Terracotta is the original and best, IMVHO.

The3Bears · 19/03/2012 10:51

Chanel Soleil tan de Chanel is AMAZING! Its a cream bronzer and you need the tiniest amount I use the mac duo fibre brush with mine and it looks great all day perfect for summer aswell because it's a cream.

monkeysmama · 19/03/2012 11:09

Which Nars did you try? I use Laguna and it looks totally glitter free.

Walnut8 · 19/03/2012 11:24

The Chanel one is good, especially if you have dry skin. Gives a good glow.
I use NARS Laguna for every day as it stays longer, however.
I've heard the Guerlain one is overrated but have never tried as it seems so expensive.

Codandchips · 19/03/2012 12:21

nars
altho havent tried Guerlain

ChiefPotterer · 19/03/2012 15:54

I know it is very cheap but I can highly recommend Boots Natural Collection bronzer and have previously been using Benefit Hula and Lancome Flash Bronzer. £1.99 and gives me a nice wide awake and refreshed glow-worth a try?.

MuslinSuit · 19/03/2012 15:57

I bought the Barbara Daly one this morning. Will report back

Mrsdp123 · 19/03/2012 22:17

I am a big fan of Lancome Flash bronzer fake tan for face. I shall investigate the others - not all at once - but if you do see a slightly orange woman roaming around the beauty counters in Bluewater in varying shades it could be me!

I love the Nars one still... 4 years and nothing beats it

Piffle · 19/03/2012 22:18

Yes Laguna here too, I am shimmer averse

Mrsdp123 · 19/03/2012 22:22

It is Nars Laguna that I have used and it makes me look really shimmery (I have quite open pores and it seems to 'sit' in them)...

I alternate between the rimmel one and ruby and mille, both seem to do the job!

LucyManga · 19/03/2012 22:56

Also love Nars Laguna. It lasts for ages and stays on all day.

anniewoo · 19/03/2012 23:20

I use Mac mineralize in dark as a bronzer. I keep coming back to it.

cardoon · 20/03/2012 07:10

Can you tell me how you use bronzer?.....I always seem to look kind of muddy with it on Blush

ggirl · 20/03/2012 07:57

guerlain one is the dogs bollocks of bronzers and very natural looking

an excellent cheaper alternative is the bourjois one that comes in a cardboard folded thing , almost as good as the gueralin

The3Bears · 20/03/2012 13:25

cardoon Suck your cheeks in and put bronzer there going outwards to contour your cheeks, i kind of go in a 'c' shape from there at the side of my eyes and just the sides of my forehead. This gives the face good shape and then I put blusher on the apples of my cheeks, I used to just put bronzer on my cheeks and all over my face kind off but now I am wiser and realise this is wrong Blush Hope that made sense Grin

chipstick10 · 20/03/2012 15:34

I use Bobbi Brown bronzer, nice and matt, a healthy looking glow. Also i often use Dr Haushka bronze concentrate. You need a tiny tiny drop and i put it on with my mac stipple brush just along cheek bones and all the places the sun hits, it also gives a lovely glow. You can also add it to foundation, wear it alone or add to moisturiser.

busymummy3 · 20/03/2012 20:51

To apply bronzer use a big fat brush (mine is from Body Shop) and brush on as if you are writing the number 3 starting across your forehead across your cheeks and nose then across your chin.

KateSpade · 20/03/2012 20:59

I third the Chanel Bronzer,

It. Is. Amazing.

The counter lady said to me, if it isn't life changing, she'll give me my money back, and really really sincerely raved about it, she hadn't persuaded me into buying it, i'd already been trying to find it for ages, but i totally agree with her. Its amazing, i use it, when I'm pale, (really naturally pale) or when I've had a spray tan, it suits both skin colours, its build able, it sets to powder, its blend able.

Just amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this!
