Fancy making me look beautiful?

Or at least having a bloody good go?

I've been reading all the princessing threads and feeling like I need to start making a bit of an effort.

2 kids 17 months apart and a Dp who usually works away min-fri has left me feeling rather a lot older than my 25yrs.

I'm going to make a hair appointment to get my highlights re-done and I've been making more of an effort with my nails and skin.

Now I need help with clothes an that's where you come in. I'm in a jeans and t-shirt rut and I want to wear lovely dresses and shoes and jackets etc.

If it helps, I've had my colours done and was told I'm a warm/light. Wasn't too sure so had a surf around the net and found HoC make me a "spring" which ties in with what I was told from CMB so I'm gonna stick to those "colours" a little longer and see how much difference it makes.

Thank-you all if you can help.

OK, where would you like to begin?

There's 25% off Boden dresses atm if dresses are what you want to go for. What shape are you? Can you wear anything?

CozIAmMumAndISaidSo · 17/03/2012 22:36

I'll give anything a go. I've never really "done" dresses. I have a wrap style dress that looks good but not sure about other styles.

12 on top and 10 on bottom. Shape? Erm, probably hourglass figure if I could just shift a bit of weight Blush

What about this dress in any of the colours?

CozIAmMumAndISaidSo · 17/03/2012 23:44

Oooo I like both those dresses.

Love the colour of the DP one.

So 2 to order and try on.

Have any of you used Le Redoute? I've seen a couple of dresses there that are possibilities too.

The DP dress is lovely. Boden one is frightfully aging for a 25 year old I think.

I'm the same shape as you and I find I need a bit volume or action lower down on a dress to balance my figure. Anything too skimmy makes me look all top heavy and out of proportion. This sort of shape works great, but cream is hardy practical.

this?

probably very flattering on

TBH I've no idea what sort of colours I should be looking for Confused

x post - got distracted

CozIAmMumAndISaidSo · 18/03/2012 00:07

No cream is probably not a good idea when I have an 18month old boy and a nearly 3yr old boy. Grin

I love love love that 2nd dress you linked to though. Am definitely going to try that.

Not sure about stripes. Anything is worth trying at the moment though so will possibly give it a go.

Thank-you.

You are 25, with a good figure.

I would not discard jeans, as I think they are a great way of looking young and fresh providing the shape suits you and you style them correctly.

Not sure of what your budget is, but there are places that sell ££ jeans, such as Donna Ida and Trilogy.

High street, Oasis jeans get very good reviews here, as do French Connection.

Get some inspiration from magazines, or just watching what other women wear. Think about your life and the clothes you need to fit into it, this is a good way of putting together a new wardrobe, so what do you want to wear at the park, coffee with friends, dinner with DH etc.

Topshop have some lovely blazers at the moment, in navy and spring colours by the way.

CozIAmMumAndISaidSo · 18/03/2012 19:49

Issimma. That website is fab. Thank-you.

I really like blazers so will have a look at those too.

Starting to feel a bit more confident about choosing clothes now. if only I had the money to overhaul my whole wardrobe Blush
